As Barrett heard Matthew asking about his mentor as soon as he arrived, he felt delighted. He thought, "This kid. I haven't even accepted him as an apprentice, and he's already calling me his mentor."

Barrett said with a smile, "I didn't make a mistake. You're Matthew Grant, right?"

Matthew nodded. "Yes, I am."

He didn't want to argue with an old man, either. So, he said calmly, "I have a mentor."

Barrett said coldly, "Everything your mentor taught you was child's play. His medical skills are no match for mine. You can't learn anything from him anyway. Be my apprentice. I'll impart you true medical skills."

Matthew's expression swiftly turned cold. He had tried his best to treat Barrett with respect, but he couldn't tolerate him insulting Nicholas. "Listen, old man. I can't be bothered to deal with you, but don't insult my mentor.

"I'd only accept my mentor as the best in the medical field, if there truly is such a title. You… I don't even know your name."

Barrett found Matthew even more endearing. He was fond of apprentices who would defend their mentors' honor.

"Since you're unaware of who I am, I'll introduce myself. My name is Barrett Miller. I am… You probably know of the Genesis Sect. I'm the leader of the sect."

Matthew was immediately on alert. The Genesis Sect was a group of maniacs, and the old man was the Genesis Sect's leader.
