Kasia asked, "Are you actually here for medical treatment from Renae?"

"Renae?" Matthew thought, looking completely confused. He had come here because Ansel's information indicated that the successor of the Afflictan Sect from the eight medical sects was in this village.

However, the person was supposed to have the last name Payne. Matthew wondered how it had become Brown and why she was now a widow.

He could only force a smile and replied, "Well, none of the doctors in the city could help, so I thought I'd give her a try. Maybe she has an alternative treatment."

Kasia shook her head slightly, clearly not believing Matthew. She told him, "Go further in. Her house is the one with a telephone pole at the entrance and has a banner that says 'Doctor with a Heart of Gold' on it."

Matthew nodded. He got into the car and drove further into the village.

Seeing him leave, Kasia pursed her lips and said, "He seems so young and impressive, yet he has a thing for widows?"

A woman next to her, who was scrolling through her phone, looked up and said, "You don't get it. Some people just have a thing for this. I've been seeing it a lot on my feed these past few days."

"A female broadcaster whose husband had passed away became extremely popular. The comments included some inside jokes that I didn't get at first. But eventually, I realized they were about a preference for widows.

"Lately, it seems like young people are really into widows. It might be a trend that's been popular for the past couple of years."

Meanwhile, the car stopped next to the telephone pole. Matthew got out and looked up at the sign above the door, which read "Doctor with a Heart of Gold".

The gate was open, and faint noises of arguments drifted from the yard. Matthew walked in, followed closely by Trevor, who was dressed in a short-sleeve shirt, long pants, and sneakers.

Despite his casual attire, Trevor's walking posture still had a military bearing, making him look somewhat out of place without his uniform.

As Matthew entered the yard, he saw that people inside the house were arguing.
