Carmelo furrowed his brows in disbelief. The middle-aged man had worked for him for ages and was insanely strong. Who would've thought he'd be taken down by one punch?

Carmelo realized he was dealing with a formidable opponent. As he waved his hand, the people around him closed in on Matthew.

Seeing Matthew get surrounded, Carmelo breathed a sigh of relief. No matter how good he was at fighting, he couldn't take on so many people at once. He was as good as dead.

He smirked and remarked, "I've been away from this continent for too long. I thought martial arts were just flashy nonsense, but I didn't expect that someone could still fight like that."

Matthew suddenly caught onto something. "I thought you were Eastorian. Turns out you're just pretending to be one of them."

Carmelo flashed a grin and replied, "I've always been drawn to a superior power, and the local martial arts here are just for show.

"In Eastoria, we were trained for deadly combat, so I went there to become stronger. You don't have to be snarky about it."

A hint of contempt flashed in Matthew's eyes. "Are the martial artists in Eastoria really that great? Those two men you sent just now were nothing special."

Carmelo twitched his mouth slightly. "You're just ignorant. Have you ever left this country, or seen a true Eastoria warrior? You have no idea what it means to be a warrior or an assassin.

"Eastoria offers extensive knowledge in persuasion, escape techniques, assassination, sword, and blade.

"It's too much to go into. Even talking about it for ten days straight won't cover everything.

"You didn't win because you can't. Relying on sneak attacks won't keep you winning all the time. Forget it. I'm too lazy to argue with someone who is practically dead."

A cold glint flashed in Matthew's eyes as he suddenly charged straight into the crowd. Utilizing his mastery of Pulverizer Fist, he took down the first opponent that came to him.

The sound of bones breaking filled the room. The victim's ribcage shattered, and his chest caved in with a fist-shaped dent.

"Now, you even came back to steal medical literature. If Eastoria's medicine is so great, why do you even need to be here to take our books?"

Carmelo was taken aback and then sported a wry smile. "Was I wrong all along? I didn't appreciate the resources I already had. I went to Eastoria, and now I'm helping them find medical literature."

As he spoke, Carmelo noticed Matthew let his guard down. He suddenly darted out with a sharp blade in his hand, going straight for Matthew's throat.

Right then, his old, frail body seemed to be back in its prime. He moved swiftly like a gust of wind.

Matthew's expression turned to surprise as he swiftly moved backward. What? This old geezer was actually a cultivator? How did he unleash such an incredible speed from that aging body in an instant?

In the blink of an eye, Matthew had retreated more than 16 feet. Even so, the blade remained just two inches away from his throat. And now, his back was against the wall.
