Chapter 453 novel The Great Medical Saint (Matthew)

Rachel was so terrified that her face went pale, and she reached out to grab Isaac's hand that was holding her collar. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't pry his hand loose.

She used to believe that being a woman didn't mean she was any less capable than a man. She didn't want to be outdone by her cousins, so she studied the business world hard to live up to her parent's expectations.

Rachel triumphed over all the men in the Carter family her age. She believed she could hold her own against any man.

But at this point, she finally came to terms with the disparity between her and men. The difference in strength was too much, and she couldn't get Isaac's hand off her.

With tears rolling down her cheeks, Rachel shouted in frustration, "You promised three years! Why can't you wait for it?"

Seeing Rachel cry, Isaac paused for a moment before remarking with a smile, "I love seeing women cry, and I like hearing them scream even more. Go on. Let it all out. Make it as loud as you can."

As Isaac spoke, he grabbed hold of Rachel's shirt and ripped it open.

In a panic, Rachel covered her clothes and cried out, "Hold on! Wait. You can't change your mind on what you promised me."

Rachel finally compromised, and Isaac's eyes lit up. "Relax. I won't lay a finger on the Carter family."

The image of Matthew and Renae being together flashed in Rachel's mind, and resentment filled her eyes. But when she recalled the scene of Matthew treating Fred's illness, her expression softened.

In the end, she realized Matthew was her first and only man.

Clenching her teeth, Rachel added, "The Grant family as well."

With a menacing glare, Isaac grabbed Rachel's collar and pulled her up. "You bitch! Are you still hung up on Matthew? You're begging me for a guy who got out of prison. The more you plead, the more I want to kill him."

"Do I still have feelings for him?" Rachel mused.

Thinking back to what she saw at the entrance, Rachel bit her lower lip, and tears ran down her cheeks. She decided that this was the last time.

Rachel was resolved to give it one last shot to Matthew. "Leaving the Carter and Grant families alone is part of our deal. If you don't agree to spare the Grant family, I'll fight to the bitter end."

Upon hearing Rachel's words, Isaac clenched his jaw in frustration. She was about to become his woman, yet here she was pleading for some other man. It felt like the worst humiliation, and Isaac's face contorted in rage.

Matthew stepped over the broken door and came up to Isaac.

Wasn't that Matthew? Isaac immediately recognized Matthew and was startled.

Horace had dispatched hundreds of elite soldiers to hunt down Matthew. He was in serious danger, yet he still dared to come to this place.

"How dare you show yourself here?"

As Matthew moved in on Isaac, his murderous intent became palpable. As he fixed his sharp gaze on Isaac, he yelled, "Get your hands off Rachel!"

Isaac grabbed Rachel by her collar and took a few steps back. He pointed at Matthew and shouted, "Get rid of him, Daniel! Once you kill him, you'll get to take charge of the Wood family's core businesses."

Excited by the promise, Daniel grabbed a bottle of alcohol from the table and charged at Matthew. When he closed in, he raised the bottle and swung it down at Matthew's head.

Daniel barely made a move when a solid punch hit him on his head. With a thud, Daniel collapsed flat on the ground.
