Renae just wanted to convince Matthew that Jane wasn't a good person. Upon hearing Matthew's words, she felt at ease.

"No. I won't go without you."

Noticing that Renae was sticking around, Matthew went quiet and followed Jane into the room.

The room looked fancier than the outside. It featured one gambling table and four cushioned chairs with backs. Right then, only Sebastian was at the table.

Jane motioned at Matthew. "Why don't you take a seat? I'll go round up other people to join the table." After saying that, Jane left the private room.

Sebastian spotted Matthew. Under his disheveled hair, he raised an eyebrow. "Are you here to join the card game too?"

Matthew chuckled and replied, "Just trying my luck here."

Sebastian kindly advised, "Our stakes here are pretty high. You should think it through. You can't back out once you're in."

Matthew knew Sebastian wanted him to leave, so he laughed and replied, "You can't be serious. It's just a card game."

Sebastian shook his head. "This place is dangerous. You seem like you've never played cards before. You'd better get out when you can."

Matthew frowned. He wasn't going anywhere until he got his hands on Integrative Medicine and Infinity Pill Formula.

"I'm just here for some card games. What's the worst that can happen? It's just losing some money. It can't be that bad."

Sebastian fixed his gaze on Matthew and muttered, "Good advice is wasted on a stubborn idiot."

Upon hearing Sebastian's words, Matthew was even more baffled. "If you know this place is dangerous, why'd you come here?"

Sebastian didn't respond. He reached for a pack of cigarettes on the table and stuck one between his lips.

He took out a lighter to light the cigarette. Leaning back in his seat, he smoked quietly and ignored Matthew completely.

"You should stick closely to me."

With a cheerful smile, Renae obediently replied, "Sure. I'll stay right here with you."

Jane giggled and announced the rules. "Let the game begin. Since we have a newcomer, the first hour will be 100 dollars a game. That's the lowest bet limit in our card room.

"After that, it'll be one thousand dollars a round. If anyone is short on cash, just leave the table early."

Sebastian smoked in silence as if he didn't catch a word from Jane at all. The chubby man popped a piece of gum in his mouth and leisurely chewed it.

The beefy guy looked impatient. "Let's kick things off already. I'm looking forward to the unrestricted games after midnight."

Unrestricted? Matthew was totally in the dark. He had never been to a place like this before.

Everything about the place fell off. If it weren't for Sebastian, he would have gotten up and left. All he could do now was take things cautiously.
