Dominic watched the flames from afar. He was overwhelmed with shock and couldn't utter a word for a long time.

The bodies were burned, but what about the plan he had prepared? If Matthew didn't make Dominic clean up, what excuse did Dominic have to start something?

Leo and Lucien also stared in shock at the distant flames. The car became quiet all of a sudden. Dumfounded, the trio blankly gazed at the fire in the distance.

Matthew got into the car. "Alright. Give me a ride home."

Dominic snapped back to reality and said with frustration, "You're going to get us into trouble with that fire. What if it spreads and burns down someone's house?"

Matthew wasn't sure why Dominic was so concerned. "That place is a standalone house. The fire won't spread anywhere else."

Dominic wanted to say something about it but was at a loss for words.

With the plan having fallen apart, Dominic had the illusion that he was a contestant in a boxing match. When the referee shouted "Go!", he threw a punch right away, only to slip and fall flat on his face.

The opponent hadn't even lifted a finger, and he had already been defeated.

Matthew glanced at his phone to check the time. Realizing it was already midnight, he figured Lorraine had likely been asleep for two hours, whereas Stanley and Lillian were probably still awake.

Ever since Matthew got out of prison, Stanley and Lillian always kept the light on when they waited for him to come home. As soon as his footsteps reached the door, they would open the door first before he could even pull out his key.

Matthew was in a rush to get home because he didn't want Stanley and Lillian to wait too long. He pressed, "Come on. Drive already. I need to hurry back home."

Dominic came back to his senses and started the car engine. He hit the gas and drove off, taking a turn before heading toward Silverbrook Village.

Even though Dominic got into the back seat, he was still not over it. "Listen up. Matthew. You'd better know your place. You're nothing and not worthy of our protection. If the big shots didn't pick you as their pawn for their power struggle, you wouldn't even have the chance to meet me."

Matthew had just adjusted his seat when Dominic's remarks made him frown. Those words had gotten on his nerves.

If it wasn't so late at night, Matthew would have called Brad to swap the crew with new people. He quickly checked the time on his phone's display. It showed 12:15 a.m.

Knowing Stanley and Lillian were home waiting to open the door for him, Matthew didn't waste time bickering with Dominic and simply started the car.

The car engine roared as he fired up the engine. He fiddled with the gearshift to get a sense of it, then slid into first gear and was ready to take off.

Noticing Matthew seemed frightened and was too scared to respond, Dominic got even bolder. "From now on, you'd better show some respect toward me, Matthew."
