Levi quickly cleared things up. "Please don't be upset, Mr. Grant. Wyatt and Jerome see me as someone important because I can decide their future. But I'm just a nobody. The person we're meeting couldn't care less about my position at all."

Matthew coldly retorted, "Do you really think I'd believe that?"

Levi sighed in resignation. "Hear me out, Mr. Grant. When it comes to regular farmers, everyday workers, and small business owners, I definitely have the power to influence their fate.

"But as for that particular group of people, their background is much more solid than mine."

Matthew was taken aback. "Seriously? Do they really have that much pull?"

Levi was already a deputy mayor. Who could be more influential than his backers?

Levi nodded. "The person talking to me was Kenneth Fuller. Officially, Kenneth is the vice president of Lambda City Medical Association, but he comes from the Fuller family, and they run the pharmaceutical scene in the five states in the northwest.

"The Fuller family prefers to keep a low profile. Otherwise, the Carter family's wealth would seem insignificant next to theirs. Plus, they have some serious connections. Even though I'm the deputy mayor of Lambda City, they don't even take me seriously."

It was Matthew's first time hearing about this. Since Wealthwave Group was involved in the production and development of medicine, he'd probably come across the Fuller family in the future. So, he decided to learn more about them.

"Tell me more about them."

Levi waved his hand at Jerome and Wyatt. "There's not much for you all to do here, so get going."

Wyatt had been wanting to leave for a while. As Levi said those words, he nodded and turned to leave.

Jerome was still hung up on the treatment. But as soon as Levi gave the order, he didn't dare say anything and just walked out quietly.

After Wyatt and Jerome left, Levi went to the door and closed it. Then, Levi smiled at Matthew and said, "The Fuller family is pretty under the radar. I didn't even know a thing about them until I became the deputy mayor.

"After I took office, someone invited me for dinner. That was when I first heard about the Fuller family and some inside stuff.

"It turned out that every business in Lambda City had been divided among them, including the pharmaceutical industry, electricity, water supply, road construction, and food.

Matthew knitted his brows together and didn't say a word. Upon seeing that, Levi tried to talk him out of this matter.

"The Fuller family is a powerhouse. Compared to them, the Carter family is just a small-time player with Wealthwave Group.

"The Carter family can't afford to mess with the Fuller family. If possible, I'd appreciate it if you could tell Rachel to just give up on Silvaris Pharmaceuticals."

Matthew snapped, "Are you saying we should let Wealthwave Group take a loss without saying a word? The formulas are taken, and yet you're expecting us to just pretend it didn't happen."

Realizing how furious Matthew was, Levi pacified him in a panic, "What I'm saying is true, even though it isn't exactly pleasant to the ear. But that's the reality.

"The Carter family doesn't stand a chance to go up against the Fuller family. In the end, Wealthwave Group might end up losing more than just Silvaris Pharmaceuticals. It could even hurt the entire company."

Matthew's eyes blazed with fury. "I'm not the type to back down. I don't care if it's the Fuller family or whatever family it might be. If they mess with me, they'll have to pay the price."
