Kingston was anxious. Why wasn't Matthew doing anything? Could it be that Matthew was upset because he didn't tell him about Plague Compendium?

A burly man swung a steel pipe at Kingston's head. The latter shut his eyes in fear when a thud filled the air.

Just before the steel pipe could reach Kingston, the burly man was knocked backward as if hit by a truck. He crashed with the people behind him, throwing the group into chaos. The rest were so scared that they stopped in their tracks immediately.

When Kingston opened his eyes, he saw Matthew standing firmly in front of him, solid and steady. He immediately felt at ease.

Matthew leaned forward to pick up the steel pipe that was dropped on the ground, giving it a feel as he swung it lightly.

The steel pipe sliced through the air with a sharp whistle. It felt a bit light, but it would do the job. He then looked around at the remaining enemies.

With a hint of surprise, Jermaine eyed Matthew and took a puff of his cigarette. "I didn't expect to see a capable fighter here. But no matter how skilled you are, you're just an ordinary guy. I'm not lifting a finger for someone like you."

After saying that, he yelled, "What the hell are you all standing around for? Go at him together. Beat him to a pulp—"

Jermaine barely got through half of what he wanted to say before he fell silent.

Matthew darted into the crowd like a shadow, weaving through them with ease. In just a few moves, all of Jermaine's men were on the ground, holding their legs and crying out in pain.

Matthew was quick. Before Jermaine could even finish his sentence, his goons were all down.

Jermaine's jaw dropped in shock. He didn't even notice the cigarette slipping from his lips and hitting the ground.

"Y-you're pretty fast, but speed alone won't cut it. Without the steel pipe, your punches are too weak to even hurt anyone."

In his eyes, Matthew was just a regular guy, and Jermaine had faced a quicker cultivator before.

Back then, the apprentice used his speed to stay agile and dance around Jermaine in the duel. Furious, Jermaine broke his leg in the end. So, in Jermaine's eyes, Matthew's speed was hardly impressive.

Matthew tightened his grip on the steel pipe without uttering a word. Talking to the opponent was as pointless as talking to a wall. Only the last one standing had the right to speak.

Jermaine walked right up to Matthew. "Without power, speed is just like a tickle to a true powerhouse—"

As Matthew's leg muscles tensed up, he unleashed an explosive power from beneath his feet. With a bang, the floor tiles cracked where he stood.

Confident about how capable Jermaine was, he had sent Jermaine to take care of Matthew and Kingston. After all, no one ever survived more than one minute against Jermaine.

But half an hour went by, and Jermaine was still nowhere to be seen.

Eddie was starting to get anxious when his phone suddenly rang. He picked it up and asked, "Have you found Matthew?"

He came to Lambda City because Kenneth was dead. The house had burnt down, and the safe was left open. The invaluable medicine formula inside was gone with no ashes from burnt paper left behind.

So, he showed up here to eliminate Matthew and recover the missing formula.

Frank Fuller replied, "I couldn't find Matthew, but I located his company. It's at Gembrooke Building, so bring Jermaine here with you."

Eddie responded, "Hang tight. I'll be here with Jermaine soon."

After hanging up, Eddie got to his feet and anxiously paced around the room, mumbling to himself, "It's just taking out a nosy peasant and a nobody. Why is it taking so long?"
