With his smile fading, Matthew's calm gaze gradually turned cold. His steely demeanor was as sharp as a blade, and a palpable murderous intent flashed in his eyes wherever he looked.

"The Fuller family has a death wish!"

Matthew had never wanted to tear someone apart this badly now.

Rose was so shaken by Matthew's eyes that she couldn't speak, recalling the brutal ways he used the bone crusher on Sheldon. The urge to run away crept into her mind, but she knew that Matthew wasn't after her, so she kept her cool.

So, she managed to keep her composure. "The reason I'm telling you all this is so you can be prepared ahead of time, Matthew. Keep your family and relatives safe."

Matthew's frosty expression softened a little. "I appreciate you telling me this."

Even though Matthew had Ivy protecting his family, he still felt the need to say thanks.

Rose nodded, feeling a weight lift off her shoulders. "Can I ask what happened between you and the Fuller family, Matthew?"

Matthew glanced at Kingston before answering Rose's question. "It's because of him."

A hint of surprise flashed across Rose's eyes, and she took a few more glances at Kingston. Then, she knitted her brows together.

"I'm not sure what Kingston means to you, but I've got to point something out. You're just a regular guy with your parents and daughter depending on you.

"Even though you have picked up a thing or two in prison, you're still on your own. You can't take on the Fuller family by yourself."

Matthew felt his heart skip a beat. Rose had looked into his past. Thankfully, she hadn't dug too deep.

Seeing that Matthew didn't say anything, Rose continued, "Crossing the Fullers has serious consequences.

"Vernon, the head of the Fuller family, can't be underestimated. The reason the Fuller family got rich so quickly is because of the way he operates."

Vernon's approach, huh? What kind of way of doing things made money that quickly? After thinking it over, Matthew came up with nothing.

"How did he handle things?"

"Thanks for the heads-up, but I've got to go now. After this, I'll definitely make it up to you."

Rose giggled. "No need to thank me, Matthew. I just think we get along well. After you wrap things up, I hope you'll take me out for dinner."

Matthew agreed right away. "Sure. You pick the place. I'll be on my way now."

After saying that, Matthew stood up and walked out. Rose watched him leave, her expression thoughtful.

Kingston got up and hurried after Matthew. "I'm sorry. I didn't expect things to go this way."

Matthew coldly remarked, "Plague Compendium is invaluable, and we can't even put a price on it. But when it comes to my family, it's just a useless piece of paper. I'm heading back to make sure my family is alright. You stay safe."

Kingston suddenly came back to his senses from being drunk. When Matthew said that he didn't want the medical literature anymore, it left him dumbfounded.
