Half an hour later, Leopold leaned on his cane as he stood at the entrance of a house. His gaze was fixed on the plaque above the door.

The plaque displayed a grand inscription—"Whispers of Nature".

Leopold sneered inwardly. Anyone who saw those words would think the owner of this house was an elegant scholar.

But in reality, he was a vicious wolf—a beast that feasted on flesh and blood.

Leopold stared at the inscription, his mind racing as he stood there for a long time. After taking a deep breath, he forced a smile that barely touched his lips before heading inside.

Meanwhile, on the sixth floor of Crystal Creek Hotel, outside Harmony Suite, Dominic stood with Lucien and Leo.

Dominic turned to them and said, "Knock on the door. Why are you looking at me?"

Lucien and Leo stepped back three paces in unison, then looked at Dominic, clearly suggesting he should be the one to knock.

Dominic frowned at once. These two could dodge the bullet, but he couldn't. Reluctantly, he squared his shoulders and raised his hand to knock on the door.

"Mr. Grant, it's Dominic."

Matthew glanced at his phone and frowned. Dominic had arrived too late. He called toward the door, "Come in!"

As the door swung open, Dominic peeked inside. He expected a scene of carnage, but to his surprise, only one person lay dead.

Seeing Dominic, Matthew stood up. "You guys clean up. I'm leaving."

"Wait, Mr. Grant," Dominic hurriedly called out.

Matthew looked at him, puzzled. "Is there anything else?"

Feeling awkward, Dominic said, "There's something I need to tell you."

"Okay, go ahead." Matthew nodded.

Dominic squirmed under that cold gaze. "This isn't what I want either. Honestly, the people you've taken out weren't innocent. Just look at those guys from The Misfortune's Veil we dealt with a few days ago.

"We did some digging when we were handing things over to the officials, and every one of them had blood on their hands. They were all coming after your family, so they got what they deserved."

"And Lifehaven Pharmaceuticals too. The investigation results shocked me. Just from that one factory's pollution, three cancer clusters appeared, affecting not just Campbell Town but two smaller towns too. The kids are barely able to speak, and the elderly folks in their 90s all have cancer.

"I saw toddlers barely talking hooked up to machines in the ICU. When I visited the hospital, the mothers were in tears, wishing they could suffer from cancer on behalf of their children instead.

"And those poor elderly. They worked hard all their lives only to end up getting cancer. Some chose to end their own lives to spare their families the burden of their illness. It's really a tragedy. Just looking at the scene made me want to kill!"

Without a word, Matthew continued staring at Dominic.

What he needed wasn't understanding or support. What he needed was a solution to a pressing problem.

The corpse of Clement lay against the wall. How was he going to deal with it?
