George’s prison cell was tiny with only a bed and a toilet, and the door was made out of iron bars, offering zero privacy. His face turned pale the moment he saw the cell. “Will I be living here from now on?” 

Liam retorted, “What did you expect?” 

“It can’t be, right? No matter what, I was…” George said. 

“Forget about your past. Why not ask the people of Riveria if they’d let you serve your sentence in a mansion?” 

George lowered his head. How could the people let him live comfortably? If it were not for him, Julius would not have died, and Nico’s plan would not have succeeded. People probably wished they could just kill him. 

“Take this set of clothing. If you behave yourself here, perhaps you’ll be granted an early parole,” Liam said, handing him the prison uniform. 

Bang. The iron door closed. 

George sat on his bed, filled with regret. Given his former status, he had thought he could have gotten a slightly better cell, but it seemed like this could not even be compared to the toilet in Ethan’s house! 

“We’re both locked up, but why is there such a big difference between us?” George used to laugh at Ethan for being locked up, but his current situation was not even a fraction as comfortable as Ethan’s! George could not even crack a smile now. All his mockery back then only fueled his urge to cry now. 

When lunchtime came, George joined a group to line up for their meal. He noticed that the food was quite simple: two slices of bread, a bowl of soup, and a serving of shredded chicken. George was used to decadent dishes, and since it was his first time eating such food, he found it incredibly unappealing. After just a couple of bites, he could not eat anymore. 

At that moment, Liam walked over and said while staring at him, “Finish it. Don’t even leave a single crumb behind!” 

Seeing Liam’s stern expression, George could only lower his head and force the food down his throat with his eyes closed. It was so unpleasant that tears began to stream down his face. 

George thought about Ethan once again. They were both locked up, so why was it that Ethan could even grow his own food? Ethan could eat whatever he wanted while George was being forced to eat whatever was given! 

Seeing that George had finished eating, Liam said, “Wasting food is shameful, so you must always appreciate your food.” 

George nodded with his eyes closed. After lunchtime, he had some time for a break, but he had
