Once the director of the prosecutors’ office, Derrick, spoke, the expression of the young tax collector standing before Benita changed instantly.

He was not the only one. The expression of the other tax collectors behind him became horrified too.

Derrick and Gabe strode over.

These two people were important officials in Midwich. Though they were not top brass, the power they wielded was intimidating enough. Moreover, they seemed to know the chairman of East World Hotel, Josef, very well, even calling him ”Commander”.
