Jonas was so obedient that he was like a robot receiving commands. Yvonne furrowed her brows together, feeling as if Jonas had no emotions at all.

"Jonas, my work isn't really that important. Tell me, which ride do you want to go on? We haven't seen each other in a long time, right? Is there anything you'd like to say to me?"

Yvonne gently patted his head, hoping to bring him closer to her that way.

Little did she expect Jonas to look up at her coldly. She was familiar with this gaze. When she first got divorced from Cole, he often looked at her this way.

"Jonas?" Yvonne was suddenly afraid. She was afraid that Jonas would no longer acknowledge her as her mother.

Yvonne suddenly thought of Lorraine. She took a deep breath and probed, "Jonas, do you not want to spend time with me? Do you prefer Ms. Sommerton instead?"

Jonas gave Yvonne a perplexed look. A while later, he replied, "Ms. Sommerton is nice, but she's working."

He lowered his head and held his hands together. He looked like he had more to say.

"Jonas." Yvonne turned him around, forcing him to look at her. "You must tell me everything, alright? We have no secrets between us."

Yvonne was starting to panic, afraid that she would lose her son.

On the pirate ship, I held Xavier tightly. I looked down to see Yvonne and Jonas talking. I wondered what they were talking about.

Knowing Yvonne, she was probably brainwashing Jonas to tell him how great Jared was.

Did she have to do that?

I could only plan for the worst.

Regardless, I turned to look at Xavier.

"After this, shall we have a rest for a while?"
