After returning to the studio, Lorraine bought small gifts for her employees. Just as she finished handing them out, she received a call from Chad.

Lorraine's expression darkened as she stepped into a corner and answered Chad's call.

"Did you speak up for Dad in front of Cole?"

She had already sensed that Chad had called for this reason.

"I can't interfere with what Cole decides." She understood my intentions—I wanted to put Gerald behind bars.

She had only recently started working at the company, but even she knew just how many shady things Gerald had done. How could I possibly not find out?

"Are you just going to watch Dad go to jail?"

Lorraine's hand clenched slowly, the veins on her knuckles popping.

She thought about my words and responded coldly, "Has Sam been released?"

Chad was clearly taken aback by her words, and all that came through the phone was the sound of his breathing.

"You guys really are heartless. Sometimes, I honestly wonder if I'm even really related to all of you."

She would never forgive Gerald for abandoning her for Sam.

"Chad, tell me—would I really just watch as my brother gets executed? Is Gerald that distrustful of me?"

When Lorraine called Gerald by his name, Chad's expression darkened. "Lorraine, I know you're angry, but Dad had no choice."

"He did have a choice. He could have made Sam's company correct their ways. All of this is his fault for enabling them."

Lorraine suddenly laughed coldly, the emotion in her eyes freezing over.

Her body trembled as she spoke, her voice cutting like ice, "Chad, don't think I don't know that Sam is Dad's biological son."

Chad's expression changed drastically, his voice dropping. "Who told you that?"

"Does someone need to tell me? It's obvious."

She also knew why these people kept it from Sam.

"You'd better not push me, or I'll tell Sam the truth."

Sam would never forgive those who had abandoned him.
