The man growled, "Why? Why does Cole Joplin's son get to stay at home safely? Why did my son have to be driven insane?"

The man kept repeating the same question. He was acting in a very chilling manner.

Xavier did not dare to confront him directly. He planned to say a few words to lower the man's guard before escaping.

Yet the man did not listen to him at all. The man's mind was filled with thoughts of his son. It was obvious that the incident had dealt him quite a blow.

"This has nothing to do with me. You should just go find my daddy," Xavier said in an attempt to redirect the man's hatred. Yet the man seemed to get even more agitated after Xavier said that.

"Yes, I should go look for your father. The entire Joplin family deserves to die. Every single one of you should die," he cursed as he looked at Xavier. He grabbed Xavier by the shoulders and started to shove him backward down the stairs.

He was not showing any mercy at all. Xavier's eyes widened as he fell. He flailed wildly and somehow managed to grab the man by the collar, pulling the man down with him.

At the hospital, the sharp smell of disinfectant made Xavier feel sick.

He couldn't stop himself from heaving weakly.

Hearing the nearby movement, Yvonne immediately sat up. Her eyes widened when she saw that Xavier had woken up, and she immediately rushed off to find the doctor. By the time the doctor arrived, Yvonne was already speaking to Xavier.

"His condition is better than we thought. There was a fracture, but no major bones were damaged. He'll be fine with proper rest," the doctor said.

"Thank you, doctor," Yvonne replied.

After sending the doctor off, Yvonne finally had a chance to question him, "Who did this to you?"

Xavier had an endorsement scheduled for the next day, but it seemed unlikely he could fulfill it with a major gash on his forehead.

"Mommy, I want to rest for a few days," Xavier pleaded with longing.
