Grandma looked at Dad with displeasure before raising her cane and striking him on the back.

"How about this? I'll help you get revenge. Just look at you. Where would you go at your age?" Grandma asked.

Mom had already made up her mind, and nothing Grandma said could stop her.

Mom took a deep breath and replied softly, "Anywhere is better than staying here. I know that woman has been waiting for him all this time. I've been occupying someone's place for so many years. It's time to give it back to them."

Mom sighed. She thought that she would be sad or even cry. Yet when the moment came, she felt nothing. Instead, she was relieved.

Grandma looked at Mom and spoke with her usual cold authority, "Are you really determined to leave? Nicole, I always felt that you were a reasonable person. If you get a divorce at your age, aren't you afraid everyone will laugh at you?"

"Let's see who would dare laugh at her," I walked in from outside with Lorraine.

After everything that happened before, Lorraine was still a little afraid of Grandma. However, she did not avoid Grandma's gaze this time. Instead, she looked directly at Grandma.
