"You guys are the ones who released the news. Why are you asking me these questions now?" I swept my eyes across the crowd and noticed there wasn't any irrelevant person present.
With that said, I failed to remember that I invited Jared to be here.
"Who gave you the orders?" At the next moment, the reporters' expressions looked absolutely terrible.
"Why are you all silent?" I looked at the document Murphy compiled for me and read out each of their names.
"If you guys are true reporters, you should be looking for the truth." I had already gathered evidence of their misdeeds. I could pull out one of them, and it would've been enough to put them behind bars.
They just had to mess with me, of all people. The audacity!
"You all twisted the truth. Aren't you worried that karma will get you?"
A thin reporter with a small frame and a big head stepped forward. "We just wanted to give the public the truth. Rumor has it that you threatened your wife to go through with the divorce. Is it true?"
When one of them stepped forward, it was only normal that someone else would back him up.
"We have the duty to let the public know about it if you really are someone like this."
"You're reporters. Can't you think for yourself?" Instead of getting angry, I chuckled. The angrier these people got, the more it meant that they felt diffident.
I refused to believe that these reporters hadn't done any investigations. If they knew to make stories from these incidents, then why wouldn't they have known about the whole story?
"Where did you all take these photos? They're such clear photos. Wouldn't you all have seen the whole thing as it happened, then?"
Silence hung over the entire room, and none of them made a peep.
I knew I was onto something. I continued, "The photos you took are true. As for the truth, I believe all of you know if what you've been circulating on the internet is accurate."
I propped myself up from the table with my hands and walked straight toward Jared. He was standing in the corner, and it was hard to make out his face.
