Chapter 77
I raise an eyebrow at him and flicker my eyes from his face, to his arm, and back to his face. He quickly removes his arm and I smile in satisfaction.
“Hey, Octopus, do me a favour and go wait in the car.” I tell her. “I need to talk to Flynn.”
“I’m not waiting in the car for you.” She crosses her arms. “And stop calling me Octopus!”
I curse at her mentally. “If you go wait in the car, I’ll let you drive.”
“Okay!” She grins happily, uncrossing her arms.
I roll my eyes and throw her the keys, which she fumbles with before dropping them.
Unlike me, Octavia didn’t get the sporty genes. She likes being girly and dressing up. She hates getting the smallest speck of dirt on her. And she can’t catch for shit.
She smiles sheepishly before quickly picking up the keys and going to the car.
I turn to Flynn and raise an expectant eyebrow at him and he avoids my gaze. Adonis looks between the two of us in
amusement.
“Flynn?”
“Okay!” He throws his arms in the air. “I’m going to be straight up with you. I like Octavia, which you already know, but I’m scared of you!”
You’re scared of me?” I repeat.
He scratches the back of his neck. “Uh, yeah.”
I smile innocently. “Good, because you should be.”
Adonis lets out a chortle and we turn to him.
“Sorry, but Flynn being scared of his own tiny best friend is the best thing I’ve seen all week.” He laughs.
I give him a blank look. “It’s only Monday.”
“Exactly.” Adonis grins at me. “More embarrassing Flynn moments to come.”
Flynn rolls his eyes. “Fuck you.”
“Like hell you will.” Adonis says, making me burst out laughing.
“Yeah, yeah, Adonis is funny. We get it.” Flynn grabs Adonis by his hoodie sleeve and started dragging him away. “See you tomorrow, Pooh Bear.”
“Bye, Loca!” Adonis yells, waving at me.
I chuckle slightly. “Bye, Flynn Rider. See you, Hot Stuff.”
“Did you hear that?” Adonis giggles to Flynn. “I’m Hot Stuff.”

Chapter 77
Flynn gives him a look. “What have you been smoking?”
“Nothing.” Adonis sobers up. “I think I’ve just spent too much time around your stupid self.”
“You and Winnie would be perfect for each other seeing as all you two like doing is bullying me!” Flynn pouts, making me laugh more before going over to the jeep and opening the driver’s side door.
“What’re you doing?” Octavia throws me a confused look.
“I’m driving.”
“You said I could drive.”
“I didn’t say today.” I make my point before pulling her out and getting in the driver’s side. “Now get in or you’re walking home.”
“OCTAVIA, I TOLD YOU TO SOFTEN THE ONIONS, NOT CATCH THEM ON FIRE FROM THE PITS OF HELL!” I shout at my sister as the frying pan sports a fire. “AND WHAT ABOUT THE CHICKEN?!“.
“What about the chicken?!” She yells back.
I blink at her. “Oh my-”
I rush to pull open the oven door and smoke immediately starts pouring out, making the fire alarm start going off.
Octavia jumps up on the island and tries to turn it off, but it just keeps going off before she grabs it off the ceiling and smashes it against the counter repeatedly until the battery falls out and it stops beeping, leaving us with a mangled, sorry excuse of plastic and wires.
I grab the oven mitts and fan the smoke away before pulling the completely burnt chicken out and placing it on the counter.
I grab the flaming frying pan and rush over to the back door and onto the deck, tossing it in the paddle pool full of water, the fire immediately going out.
Why do we have a kids paddle pool?
Well, I don’t exactly know why, but I do remember trying to drown Flynn in it last summer.
I trudge back inside and stand next to Octavia as we stare at the charred chicken.
“And you wonder why dad never lets you in the kitchen?” I mutter before turning around and making my way out of the kitchen. “If this were Master Chef, Gordon Ramsey would have our heads. I can just hear him yelling, ‘Good job you fucking idiots! You just scorched the fucking chicken, you fucking morons!”
“Stop talking to yourself, idiot!” Octavia shouts from the kitchen.
I pop my head back in the kitchen.
“Oh, I’m the idiot?” I look at the chicken pointedly before looking back at her.
She opens and closes her mouth a few times before huffing. “Fuck you.”
“Wow, nice comeback.” I say sarcastically, rolling my eyes. “By the way, you have to buy a new smoke alarm, dumbass.”

Chapter 77
“Hello dumbest and not–as–dumb–as–Winnie!” Flynn’s voice rings out as the front door slams open and the smell of pizza wafts
around the house.
Octavia looks at me with a questioning look.
“I called him as soon as you convinced me to let you help.” I explain, grinning.
“And I brought pizza because nothing good ever comes from Octavia being in the kitchen.” Flynn announces, making me laugh loudly at my sister’s face.
“How rude.” She pouts as we walk into the living room where Flynn is standing with a grin on his face, Adonis behind him holding eight boxes of pizza which are covering his face.
