When the elevator door closed, Archer called Molly away and reprimanded her.
The others in the secretary’s office also felt a lingering fear when they saw that.
“She’s really… Forget it. Fortunately, Ms. Reese is here. Otherwise, Mr. Mcdaniel definitely wouldn’t let her off so easily.
“Well, it’s fine if she made a mistake, but it’s better if she doesn’t implicate us…”
After visiting Gilbert at the hospital, Byron took Maçve to the amusement park.
That was right, it was an amusement park.
Maeve wanted to go to the amusement park when she was little, but her foster parents only took Horace there.
When she grew up and earned money later, she did not want to go at all because she was alone.
The place had been reserved. Only the staff in charge of the project’s operation and the vendors by the roadside were there. They did not even have to queue.
It was already 10:30 p.m. by the time they finished all the projects.
After getting off the jumper, Maeve looked at Byron, whose face was pale, and whispered, “Byron, so this’s what you’re afraid of.”
Byron pursed his thin lips slightly and glanced at her indifferently without saying anything.
“If you had told me earlier you couldn’t play this, we wouldn’t.” Maeve continued to whisper, “You hurt grabbed it just now. You aren’t also coming to the amusement park for the first time, are you?”

“Maeve, shut up,” said Byron.
“Oh.”
Maeve was in a good mood after finding Byron’s weakness. The unpleasantness she had encountered in the Mcdaniel Group was thrown to the back of her mind.
When they returned to Nightfall Manor, Will and Theo were already asleep. Their heads were close to each other as they slept soundly.
Maeve closed their room door and went downstairs to get a glass of milk for Byron. She brought it to his study and asked him for her delivery.
Byron rubbed his temples. The stomach discomfort caused by the jumper had yet to subside, and his expression was still not good.
He pointed to the sofa. “Help yourself.”
“Remember to drink the milk. I’m going back to my room.” Maeve carried the package and walked out happily.
Byron took two sips of milk. When he thought of the contents of the package, he slowly frowned.
That notebook…
Maeve returned to her room and couldn’t wait to open the package and pour everything out. She sat on the carpet and

started to look through them.
She wanted to look inside and see if she could find out the reason why her memory was blurry.
Maeve flipped through and saw the notebook.
The content inside made Maeve frown. ‘Help, did I really write it? What was I thinking to write such insipid words back then? Byron must have read it, too,’ thought Maeve.
Maeve’s face heated up. She even had the urge to throw the notebook away.
Hastily, she put it back at the bottom of the box and packed everything else back in.
Then a piece of paper fell out of the page of a romance novel.
Maeve focused her gaze and was stunned on the spot.
[Kid, if you really want to pursue me, bring the acceptance letter from Kleymond University. Don’t bother with anything else.]
The words were fluent, forming a style of its own. It was obviously written by a male student.
Maeve’s mind went blank for a moment. As soon as her fingertips touched the yellowed paper, something surged out of her eyes and fell uncontrollably.
A few blurry images flashed through her mind.
“Maeve.”
The voice was so familiar that Maeve could not tell if it was a memory or reality.
Byron slowly walked in. His gaze landed on Maeve’s tear–stained little face. Then he met her sour gaze that seemed to be looking at another person through him. His expression suddenly turned cold.
‘She is actually crying like this. Does the contents in the notebook make her so sad and nostalgic?‘ thought Byron.
Byron’s black eyes emitted a cold luster. He walked before her and raised his hand to pinch her chin. He said coldly, “Maeve, look at me and see who I am.”
‘She actually dares to treat me as someone else,‘ thought Byron.
Maeve came back to her senses and realized something was wrong with her. She explained hoarsely, “I’m sorry. I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I suddenly feel a little unwell.”
‘It isn’t just unwell. It is as if a part of my heart has been hollowed out. Nothing feels right, thought Maeve.
Byron’s thin lips were tightly pursed into a line. The anger in his eyes was covered in ice shards, ruthless and terrifying. “Didn’t you forget his name? You’re crying like this. Are you trying to tell me you still have feelings for him?”
“I didn’t…”
“You didn’t?” Byron rubbed the wetness on her cheeks with his fingers and mocked, “Then what is this?”

Maeve was speechless. Her chaotic thoughts were like a ball of string that could not be sorted out. Everything was tied up in
a dead knot, and she did not even know where to start to explain
Her silence was no different from tacit agreement at that moment.

The coldness in Byron’s eyes almost materialized. There was no trace of the gentleness in them from an hour ago.
Byron would be jealous of the fact that Maeve had once liked someone else, but he wouldn’t mind.
That man was already in the past and was not worth his attention
