Summer was almost upon them. The giggles and laughter at the fragrant garden where a small baby shower party was held were music to his ears.

A momentary peace had ensued. A blessing nonetheless.

His mate and his sister glowed and their noticeable baby bumps were simply adorable. They will have new pups running around before the year ends.

"Why aren't we allowed at the party?" His beta grumbled beside him. Irritated because their mates asked them to stay away.

Alexander chuckled. Ever since the incident, they had smothered them too much.

His Anna couldn't believe he would follow her in the toilet every time she emptied her bladder. She was understanding yet she screamed, horrified that he was about to guard her while she pooped. That was the last straw. She drew her line of privacy and pushed him out the door.

He rolled his eyes. As if it would bother him. Apparently, it bothered her. He puffed in exasperation.

"That they do, my friend." The king smiled faintly, hearing Anna's peals of laughter. That's more like it.

"Have you heard from the Vampire King?" The pain he remembered from Xavier's eyes sobered him instantly. The sacrifice he has put himself with...

"Yes. He traveled to Romania to assign a caretaker to Victor's old castle. After that, he has resigned to hibernation for two years. It's the only way. Oliver and Sofia will govern the realm from his nearby estate." And he had sworn to protect Anna Michelle with his life. Exactly what the other kings had also promised to do for the Vampire King.

Mish's was the Queen apparent of the Vampire realm and she carried the mark of the king but she doesn't know any of it. She had lost her memory of Xavier.

Sometimes, he scrutinized her faraway and forlorn expression. The heart and soul will always remember even if her memory failed her.

"The Vampire King is a true gentleman. He had sacrificed a lot." Micheal praised. He nodded in agreement. "Have you told the Queen Luna?"

"I did. She understands and she will support her sister. Mish has decided to study music and composition. Xavier had arranged classes for her at Juilliard. She will start in a few weeks." Mish's king has thought every detail to make his beloved's life easier. That included all the best female doctors at their beck and call. He admired Xavier more for it.

"I'm so fucking glad that Victor is dead." His beta said in disgust at the vile name. Xavier has made a sample of the elder vampire during the High Council meeting. Draining the traitor of his blood until he was on the brink of death then chopping him while he was still breathing. The brutality of it astounded the members of the council. Some weak stomachs puked their guts out.

The kings and leaders never intervened.

It was a clear warning to the traitors out there.

They were on the lookout. They knew it was far from over. There was no time to be complacent. Every day they search, they train, they kill and maim the enemies.

Lucas and Lucifer continued to search for the lost tomb of the dark death angel.

The Lycan King, Michael, and Oliver will turn every stone to unmasked the traitors in the alliance.
