Chapter 1247

Ellinor was lounging in bed, lazily flipping through the pages of her unfinished book. She knew Balfour had followed her in, but she didn’t give a damn.

Balfour scanned the room, then looked at his clearly pregnant sister and said, “Ellinor, how about coming home with me?”

Ellinor casually turned a page. “Home? I am home. What other home should I go to?”

Balfour moved next to her and sat down gracefully, “Stop messing around. You know what I mean.”

Ellinor looked up. “Mr. Howard, can you first tell me how you knew I was here? Was it your brother Byran or your pal Bartlett?”

Balfour didn’t beat around the bush. “It was Theo.”

Ellinor was taken aback. She didn’t see that one coming.

“Huh, I thought you two were sworn enemies. Didn’t expect you to be in touch.”

Balfour sighed. “Ellinor, let’s not fuss about that now. I won’t ask where you’ve been for the past six months. But seeing you heavily pregnant and living alone makes me worried. Come home! I’ll have someone look after you property, okay?”

Ellinor looked at Balfour as if he were a stranger. “Mr. Howard, I appreciate your concern, but I’m home already. I’m not going anywhere.”

Balfour reached over and gently stroked her head. “I know you’re still mad at me and haven’t forgiven me yet. But you can’t ignore your health now that you’re pregnant. Come back with me to the Howard family’s home. Whatever you decide. I’m with you.”

Ellinor laughed. “I’m not ignoring my health, Haven’t I been taking good care of myself for the past six months? Mr. Howard, you don’t need to worry about me. Now that you’ve seen I’m doing fine, you can go.”

Balfour frowned. “Ellinor!”

Ellinor raised an eyebrow. “What? Not used to me not being as docile as Patricia?”

Balfour was taken aback. “No, I didn’t mean that. I wouldn’t compare you two.”

Ellinor gave him a faint smile. “Mr. Howard, I understand your concerns and your good intention of taking me back with you.

But have you ever thought about how you will explain to your family who I am?

Even if you disclose to them that I am your long-lost sister, how will they react?

I’m already pregnant. Will the elders be upset because I’m unwed and carrying the enemy’s child?

The elders of the Howard family already have a bias against our mother and misunderstand her deeply! If you bring me back now, wouldn’t it just give them more reasons to criticize our mother’s upbringing?
