“Theo, everyone thought you died in that blast, but I never bought it! I knew you wouldn’t check out on us so easily. My gut feeling was right! I’m over the moon to see you alive and kicking again.” 

Theo gave her a slight nod. “Yeah, sorry to have you worried.” 

Sophia suddenly seemed a bit down. “Theo, about Ellinor…” 

Theo started. “She…” 

“Bro, it looks like Ellinor’s gone missing!” Veronica, who had just settled Marissa into a police station chair, realized that Ellinor was still missing when Sophia mentioned her, so she retraced her steps to tell him. 

Sophia put on a worried face. “Theo, Ellinor’s pregnant, and now she’s nowhere to be found. If anything happened to her…” 

“It seems like Miss Sophia was kinda looking forward to some bad news, huh?” Ellinor’s calm voice echoed within the police station walls. 

Both Sophia and Veronica snapped their heads towards the interrogation room door, only to see Ellinor walking out. 

Upon seeing her, Theo immediately moved towards her, naturally reaching out to support her. 

Veronica beamed. 

Sophia’s face was a bit off. “Ellinor? You… you’re back too! Brilliant!” 

Ellinor, not pushing Theo away, put her hand on his forearm, looked at Sophia, and raised an eyebrow. “You really think that’s brilliant?” 

Sophia nodded. “Yes! It’s fabulous that both you and Theo are okay. We can all breathe a sigh of relief.” 

Ellinor smiled. “Why do I get the feeling that you’re not too thrilled? Is it because your plan of taking me to the blast site so those goons could nab me and kill me didn’t pan 

out?” 

Veronica frowned at Sophia. “So you’re the one who took Ellinor to the blast site? And when I called, asking about her, you played dumb?” 

Sophia’s face stiffened a bit. “Veronica, I don’t know what she’s talking about! I don’t know why Ellinor would say that. It’s been a while since I last saw her!” 

Sophia glared at Ellinor resentfully. “Ellinor, I’m really glad you made it back. But why are you framing me? When did I ever take you to the blast site? I wouldn’t dare go there!” 

Ellinor wasn’t surprised that Sophia was maintaining her poker face. She chuckled. “Why would I have any reason to frame you?” 

Sophia frowned and said, “Ellinor, I know you’ve never had a soft spot for me, maybe because of the marriage certificate Theo and I have. But I’ve explained that our marriage was just a way for me to help him; there’s nothing more. You’re misunderstanding us!
