Chapter 1400 

Theo was suffering some pain. His voice was a bit raspy, but he managed to sound relaxed. “Yeah, I’m awake now.” 

He could hear the sigh of relief from Ellinor over the phone. 

She noticed his hoarse voice too, but figured it was just because he just woke up, so she didn’t think much of it. 

“Where are you now? Haven’t you arrived at Sophia’s yet?” 

Theo answered honestly. “Yeah, I’m here.” 

Since he was injured and couldn’t handle his phone, Collin,wisely left it by his pillow and left the room. 

Ellinor asked seriously, “How’s it going? Did you see Thaddeus? Did he give you a hard time?” 

Feeling touched by her concern, Theo managed a small smile and pretended to sound a bit down. “Yeah, I’ve had it rough.” 

Upon hearing that, Ellinor’s voice immediately went up. “What do you mean? How did he give you a hard time?” 

Theo feigned hurt and said, “He hit me.” 

What?! 

Almost as a reflex, Ellinor blurted out, “Hold on! I’ll get Chase to book me a flight right now!” 

After hearing her panicked voice, Theo couldn’t help but chuckle and then burst out laughing. “So you do care about me! You can’t stand seeing me bullied and want to fly over to help?? 

As soon as she heard his laughter, Ellinor realized she’d been had, and said crossly, Theo, are you messing with me?” 

Theo was just trying to ease her worries. 

If he told her everything was fine, she might not believe him and keep worrying. 

But since he could still joke with her, she’d probably believe him and relax. 

Theo laughed. “I just wanted to hear you worry about me. After all, you used to ignore me and act like I was disposable, right?” 

Ellinor was getting annoyed. “Is this a time for jokes? Are you 

bored?” 

Theo said seriously, “Okay, no more joking. Everything’s sorted out. Sophia and I will go to dissolve the marriage certificate tomorrow, and then I’ll come back to you.” 

Ellinor was a bit surprised. “That was easy. Did Thaddeus make any unreasonable demands?” 

Theo didn’t want her to worry, but he didn’t want to lie. “I had to pay a price, but everything’s fine now. Do you want anything special? I can ask Collin to get it for you.” 

Ellinor was still suspicious. “I don’t want any gifts. Turn on your camera; I want to see you.”
