Ida spotted him, revealing no particular emotion on her face. She just adjusted her gold-rimmed glasses as she said, “She’s asleep now. You can come in later.” 

Rather than being stubborn and insisting on entering, Byran simply asked in a somber tone, “Is the baby born already? Is she okay?” 

Considering the current complicated situation, Ida sighed slightly. “She’s doing okay… I guess.” 

Without a word, Byran turned around and sat on the waiting chair near the door. 

Ida was somewhat surprised by this.. 

Why was he so cooperative today? It was unlike his usual privileged attitude. 

She squinted her eyes and observed him for a while before she closed the door and returned to watch over Ellinor. 

When she came back, Ellinor was already awake. She was probably stirred by the earlier knocking sound. 

She wearily opened her eyes and hoarsely asked, “Who was that?” 

Frowning slightly, Ida replied, “It wasn’t Mr. Blanchet. It was Byran.” 

The light in Ellinor’s eyes gradually dimmed. She had just fallen asleep, but it was a restless slumber. “Ida, what time is it now?” 

Glancing at the clock, Ida answered. “It’s past six in the evening.” 

“Oh.” 

This simple response carried a mix of anxiety and disappointment, which Ida could discern. 

The boss was waiting for Mr. Blanchet. She had been waiting for him all this time. 

And that man, who stole a child, had fled. 

The boss didn’t know yet.

At this moment, the door to the room was knocked on again. 

Turning around, Ida opened the door to find two nurses carrying babies. 

She held the door open, allowing the two nurses in. 

Just as she was about to close the door, she remembered the young man waiting outside. She paused and looked towards him. 

By that time, Byran had noticed the nurses bringing the babies in and had stood up. 

He was tall and thin. He tiptoed to catch a glimpse of the babies but was too shy to approach. 

Ida suggested. “She’s awake now. Why don’t you come in and see the babies too?” 

Caught off guard, Byran then awkwardly walked into the room with a stern expression.
