Byran suddenly put on a serious face. “I wouldn’t! Ida, if I could be a womanizer, I would not be stuck with you! You’re so cold to me every day, and yet I still shamelessly seek your company. Do you think I was born with no shame? 

If I could switch my affections, I would have done so and chosen a woman who is enthusiastic about me!” 

Ida remained silent. She kept her eyes on the road and her hands plastered on the steering wheel. 

Byran reiterated. “And about my dad, I really don’t know much. As his son, I can’t join you in calling him a womanizer. I just can’t abandon him. If you don’t want to accompany me to see him, so be it! Let’s just forget I ever brought it up!” 

Ida still didn’t speak. She just turned the steering wheel and took an exit off the freeway. 

Byran frowned. “Ida, why are we heading this way? This isn’t the way to the hospital.” 

As he spoke, Byran subconsciously clutched tightly at his seat belt, fearing that Ida’s sudden exit from the freeway was a prelude to tossing him out of the car. 

But all Ida said was, “There’s no florist on that road.” 

Byran looked puzzled. “A florist? Ida, who are you buying flowers for? You can’t be giving flowers to other men behind my back, right?!” 

Ida shot him a disgusted glance. “If I can’t give them behind your back, then I’ll do it right in front of you.” 

Byran scowled. “Who exactly are you giving flowers to? Is it a man or a woman? You’ve never even given me flowers! Are you trying to kill me with jealousy?!” 

“Last time you tricked me into going to the hospital, I went empty-handed. Do you want me to show up empty-handed again today? I may not admire your father, but I still have my manners.” 

Byran was taken aback, and a spark of joy lit up his eyes. “Ida! I knew you cared about me!” 

Ida let out a small sigh. There were times when she couldn’t understand why she couldn’t resist feeling soft-hearted towards this man and giving in 

to him.

Bertha and Lea rushed over as soon as they received a message from Ellinor.
