Chapter 2015

“Balfour…” Ivy rose to her feet, her voice a soft whisper.

“He didn’t say whether he agreed or not. What does that even mean?” She wondered.

She pursed her lips, mulling over the silence. She had laid her cards on the table, and since Balfour had not uttered a word, it probably meant he was not opposed, right?

With that thought, a beaming smile spread across her face. “Oh well, I guess I’ll head over to sign the contract tomorrow!”

This was a milestone for lvy, her very first job, and the excitement kept her awake all night.

Ivy indulged in a bit of pampering to make a smashing impression on Colton and reassure him he had made the right choice. She applied a face mask, dabbed on some makeup, and dressed with care before stepping out the door.

Little did she know, Balfour had already arranged a car to take her to Colton’s company. The signing ceremony was set up there for today!

Throughout the ride, Ivy was in high spirits.

This job was a testament to her talents, a proof of her independence.

Upon arriving at Colton’s company, Ivy stepped out of the car and straightened her outfit before walking in.

“Hi, I’m here to sign a contract with Colton today.”

The receptionist flashed a warm smile and asked her to wait a moment while flipping through the appointment book. “You must be Ivy Dunhill. Colton has already informed us. Please follow me.”

Ivy trailed the receptionist to the elevator. With a press of a button, the doors opened, and she was instructed to go to the fifth

floor. “Colton is on the fifth floor.”

“Thank you,” Ivy said gratefully, taking the elevator up.

The receptionist watched Ivy ascend. When she had just returned to her desk, Giselle walked in wearing sunglasses. “Hi, is Colton

in?”

“Are… are you Giselle?” The receptionist had seen many celebrities, but this was her first encounter with Giselle.

As a die-hard fan, she could hardly contain her excitement at meeting her idol.

For Giselle, an A-list celebrity, this was routine. “Yes, I’m Giselle. I’m here to see Colton. May I go in?”

Usually, a lack of appointment would be an issue, but Giselle’s superstar status guaranteed an open door.

“Of course,” the receptionist said, leading Giselle to the elevator and pressing for the fifth floor. “Colton is on the fifth floor.””

As Giselle was about to step into the elevator, she turned back with a question, “I heard Colton’s new movie has a lead actress locked in. Do you know who it is?”

“It’s a newcomer, actually just went up. You’ll probably meet her when you get there,” the receptionist kept it vague.
