On the flip side, Ellinor was on her way home 

Her mind was a total mess as she relived Theo’s injuries, his last look at her, and their misunderstanding 

She was freaking out!

Chase continued, “Anyway. Theo already thinks we’re married. Let him believe we’re having a child now. This will only confirm our previous lie and get him off our back.”

Ellinor’s eyes drooped. The taste of the milk in her mouth was bitter. 

Seeing her low spirits, Chase leaned over, “Ellinor, tell me the truth. You still care about that guy, don’t you? That’s why you’re upset about being thought of as a loose 

woman.”

Ellinor didn’t want to dwell on it, so she changed the subject. “Enough about that! Chase, go fix me something to eat, I’m starving!”
