However, given that this was Ellinor’s place where she lived with other men, he felt a sense of discomfort no matter where he looked 

Next to the couch, there was a small bookshelf filled with books. Feeling bored, the man casually pulled out a magazine and started flipping through it. 

“Meow-” 

Suddenly, a cat’s meow sounded near him. 

He looked up to see a white fat cat watching him warily, its chubby body language full of caution. 

Theo frowned, thoughtfully observing this cat that clearly wasn’t friendly towards him. 

He had never owned pets, and didn’t particularly like furry animals. 

But when he thought about how this cat was owned by Ellinor, he found himself developing some fondness for it. 

After some contemplation, he closed the magazine in his hands, sat up straight, and extended a hand towards the plump white cat, his voice cold, “Come here.” 

“Meow! 

The cat didn’t come over, instead growling at him… 

Seeing this, the man began to feel displeased. 

If the cat simply disliked him, that would have been one thing. But he distinctly remembered the cat being quite fond of a man named Chase. 

His woman’s cat liked to get close to other men. Who would be happy with that? 

Just then, there was some noise from the outside. Someone was punching in the code to unlock the door… 

The door opened, and Chase sauntered in, stretching lazily 

Upon seeing the man sitting in the living room, Chase froze mid–stretch, taking a few seconds to regain his composure. He quickly pulled his arms back, affecting a natural smile. 

“Hey! Mr. Blanchet, what brings you over to our place today? Where’s my wife? She didn’t even offer you a cup of coffee, how rude of her!” 

Heanng the word ‘wife‘ from Chase, Theo’s brow furrowed visibly. He leaned back against the couch, legs casually crossed, his gaze cold as he fixed it on Chase, asking him, “Who’s your wife?” 

Chase had an ominous feeling about the unfriendly counter–question. Was Theo here to stir up trouble? 

Chase instinctively glanced towards the master bedroom. The door was open, and he could see Ellinor inside their room, although what she was doing was unclear… 

After a moment, Chase grinned again. “Mr. Blanchet, you’ve met my wife before, haven’t you? It’s Ellinor!” 

Theo’s gaze was icy. “Is that so? Are you sure she’s your wife?”
