“Spill it why are you tailing me?” Ellinor asked bluntly, having already had her suspicions. Belinda looked a bit sheepish, “I just wanted to see where you’d go and what you’d do.” 

Ellinor casually folded her arms. “Why the curiosity about what I’m up to? Care to be a bit more specific?” 

Belinda knew her stalking was out of line and felt pretty rotten about it. 

But then she remembered she had a reason, so she puffed up her chest and asked, “Ellinor! I saw you coming out of the office of Crescent Society’s president. What’s your deal with them?” 

Ellinor didn’t even bat an eyelash as she simply replied, “They’re old friends of mine from childhood. Is there a problem?” 

Belinda was taken aback, her face a picture of surprise, “What? Ellinor, you’re childhood friends with the president of Crescent Society? But didn’t you grow up in the 

boondocks?” 

Ellinor looked at her, ‘So country bumpkins can’t make it big? Is it so weird that a childhood friend of mine made it from rags to riches as a corporate bigwig?” 

Belinda quickly waved her hands, “No, no! That’s not what I meant; I thought you and the president of Crescent Society…” 

Ellinor finished for her. “Thought I was in a romantic relationship with the president of Crescent Society?” 

Belinda felt even guiltier, “It’s what Collin told me, he said you and Chase from Crescent Society tied the knot, so I just…” 

Ellinor fell silent. 

There had been a misunderstanding between her and Theo before, which made Theo think she had married Chase. 

So, it was conceivable that Theo’s right–hand man, Collin, would think the same. 

Belinda sighed, looking worried, “Ellinor, did you know? Ever since you left, Theo’s been down in the dumps. He’s wasting away! Then, when I heard you married another man, I planned to help Theo win you back!” 

Ellinor snapped back to reality and smirked, “You planned to help him win me back? How exactly?” 

Belinda said confidently, “I was going to get a job at Crescent Society first, then get close to your husband Chase, make him cheat on you and get dumped, then Theo could swoop in, and you’d be back in Theo’s arms. 

After hearing her plan, Ellinor couldn’t help but twitch her lips, feeling utterly speechless. 

Belinda really did think differently from normal people. 

Ellinor rubbed her forehead, “So how far along is this grand plan of yours?” 

Belinda said, “I got hired at Crescent Society and have been working there for a while.”
