When Angeline opened her eyes and saw Jay, she immediately let out a bright and beautiful smile.

“I was waiting for you.”

Angeline stood up and walked inside the house holding Jay’s arm, asking with concern, “Grandpa and the rest are gone?”

Angeline sniffed and looked as though she was about to cry. She said, “I don’t want her to leave.”

Jay stroked her nose and comforted her gently, saying, “Don’t worry, I’ll go and get Grandma back myself when the storm is over.”

Angeline made the final attempt to persuade Jay to let Grandma Boye stay. “They can stay in Carefree Garden, Jaybie. I don’t think the flames of war in Tourmaline Estate will reach Carefree Garden.”

Jay stopped in his tracks and gazed at Angeline’s face that was filled with reluctance. He persuaded her patiently, “Grandma Boye is Grandpa’s lawful wife, Angeline. She and Grandpa have never officially divorced, so Grandma Boye has the right to take away half of the Ares family’s assets.
