Jay went to the fridge to get her a pack of probiotic powder. He put it in a glass of warm water and went back to her.

“Drink this.”

Angeline drank the probiotic and said apologetically, “I’m sorry, Sir Ares. It’s difficult for you to get about but I still created so much trouble for you.”

Jay was speechless. He replied flatly, “It’s fine.”

Angeline said with even more sincerity. “All four of my limbs are fine, but I asked a crippled man to serve me. I feel so very apologetic.”

“My hands are fine,” he said in frustration.

Angeline heard him grinding his teeth before finally realizing she had said the wrong things. “I didn’t mean that. I was just saying how your legs aren’t working—”
