ASHANTI'S POV.

I watch in horror as the unsmiling female guard approaches me. My breaths are coming in too hard and I nearly pass out the moment she stands in front of me with her gaze boring into holes into my face. She's one of the many Pack subjects who hate me. I shoot a nervous glance at Alpha Reagan and see that his search has already begun.

“Can I?” The woman standing in front of me asks and I turn to her. I swallow dryly, nod my head in agreement and step forward.

“Lift your arms, please.”

I do just that. I stretch my arms wide by my side and a shiver vibrates through me when she places hands on the side of my ribs and starts to pat me downwards. The dress I'm wearing is an off shoulder gown that hugs my body to the level of my waist and and continues with a high split flay and flushes on the floor. The design of the dress is a bit complicated, but searching me will be easy and it's just a matter of seconds before she's…

A strange feeling at the right hip snaps me out of my thoughts and I look down to see what she's doing.

“What's this?” She asks, looking up at me and my eyes go to what she's pointing at. It's a small split at the level of the region where the flayed part of the dress starts.

“I… I don't know. I haven't even noticed that before.” My voice is hoarse and I've begun to panic.

I didn't notice that split before. I didn't even look at the dress because I was so upset that Lizzy was insistent on me wearing it.

“Haven't you?” Her voice is masked with disbelief. I shriek in fright when I feel her fingers dig into the split. My eyes widen when I realise what it is. It's not a split, but a pocket. A real tiny pocket that's easy to miss. With my heart in my throat, I watch the woman pull out a tiny black plastic bag from the pocket and plants her gaze on me.

“What's this?” She asks, bringing the plastic up to my face so I can get a proper view of it.

“I don't know.” I'm shaking my head like a lizard, scared to the bone. “I swear I don't know what that is. I have no idea how it got into my dress.” My voice is a nervous shaky mess. The look of total disbelief on the woman's face makes my heart race even harder.
