REAGAN'S POV.

“Thank you, Jared.” I tell the guard who opens the car door for me to step out. Once I'm out, I start heading straight to the main door of the building where my office is. My next plan is to have a meeting with the elders who were on my side the last time we held that meeting where Alina's parents kept insisting I chose her as my wife and mate. I don't know what benefit comes with having a few elders on my side, but I just feel like that's a wise thing to do in this situation.

My cell phone buzzes in my trouser pockets. I halt on my tracks and take the phone out. When I see Kyle's name on the caller ID, I instantly wipe the answer icon and bring the phone to my ears.

“Yes.” I resume walking.

“The elders are waiting for you in your office.”

“Good. I'm on my way up.”

“How did the interrogation go?” He asks, concerned and stop in my tracks again and let out a deep, heavy sigh.

Lizzy's words replay in my mind and anger starts brewing in my veins again. She keeps lying to me and against her future Luna. She's going to pay for this.

“She didn't change her statement. Kept insisting that Ashanti was the one who asked her to get the wolfsbane.”

“She has the audacity to lie to your face?” He asks, sounding very irritated. A small sigh follows. “Whoever set her up to this must have something big on her.”

“I don't care what hold whoever has on her. All I know is that I'm going to expose them. All of them. They'll regret ever messing with me.” I start walking. “I have to go now. Talk to you later.”

“Yeah, sure.” The line goes dead and I shove the phone once again into my pocket.

“Alpha Reagan!” A loud voice thunders my name from behind, halting me in my tracks. The guards and I turn to see who it is and I nearly go mad when I see Alina's father hopping out of his car and marching towards me, fighting every guard on his way who tries to stop him.

This man will never seize to amaze me.

“Let me go!” The furious man screams at the guards holding him down as he tries to fight them off to no avail. He thinks he's still in his youthful days when he could take down a hundred guards at once. Now he's old and he no longer has that strength.

“Let him through.” I tell the guards and the second they release him, he runs over to me, breathing heavily with a terrible scowl on his face. The greying man halts in front of me and looks up furiously. At this point, he might even smack me right now. “What do you want now, Mr. Williams?”

“She succeeded!” He screams and drops of saliva from his mouth splatters all over the place. I twist my face and take a few steps back when a few drops land on my face.
