REAGAN'S POV.

My entire being feels rejuvenated after that very fruitful conversation I just had with Kyle and Tessa. The recording she presented to me will go a long to prove Alina's guilt and when Kyle finally gets the maid to talk, everything will be set. We're doing all of this in discretion to prevent our plans from leaking out, lest they reach the wrong ears and a counter plan is hatched.

I want to take Alina unaware. If there's one thing I've learned about her, it's that she is an excellent planner and it takes very little time for her to cook up a plan that could range from simply making a person look bad to killing someone. She's a dangerous person and we must tread with caution.

As I step out of the car into the hospital premises, my phone starts buzzing in my pocket. I take it out and quickly kill the ringer when I see Alina's father's name on the caller ID. The man has been calling me since last night, urging and ordering me to come and see Alina who they claim has not stopped crying ever since the doctor told her she has lost the pregnancy.

I wonder why she isn't an actress. She'll make an excellent actress!

Anyway, I'm here to see her. Not because of her father's urges and commands, not because I feel sorry for her. None of that. I'm here to see her because I don't want to raise her suspicion. She mustn't know about the investigation I'm secretly carrying out with the others and for me to distract her mind from going in that direction, I have decided to show up and pretend to be concerned about her health and well-being.

My guards lead me into the hospital building and once I step into the lobby, all attention is diverted to me. Everyone, whether patient or doctor or nurse, stops whatever it is they are doing and bows to me as a sign of respect and they only resume their duties when I signal them to do so. The private elevator takes me to the VIP section of the hospital and the guards lead me to a room which I suppose is where Alina has been admitted.

“I'll go in alone,” I tell them once we get to the door and walk into the room. My eyes go over to the bed where I spot Alina sleeping peacefully. As I walk closer to the bed, my gaze does not leave her face.
