“You want to stay here, right? Alright, I’ll leave.”

She had just taken a step forward when Antonio spoke in a calm tone, “Your friend Sybil, as well as your friends and mentor back in your home country, if you were to disappear from my life again, I would make sure they have no place to stand anywhere.”

Grace’s body suddenly stiffened, “…Antonio, don’t you feel ashamed of yourself!”

“I didn’t want it this way,” Antonio skillfully chopped the vegetables, but rare as it was, he accidentally cut his finger. He stared at the bleeding finger for a while before saying, “But this is the most effective way, isn’t it?”

Grace did not answer him, and the spacious villa fell into

silence.

He quickly made the meal again and brought it to the table, but Grace had no appetite and didn’t want to see him. She went upstairs and went to sleep directly.

Antonio brought the dishes and said, “Are you tired? Eat something before sleeping.”

Grace pulled the blanket over her head and said, “Go away.”

“Alright, when you get hungry again, I’ll make it again,” Antonio said as he set the food down and then went back up, lying on the bed.

He held Grace from behind, tightly gripping her waist with his left hand.

“What are you doing! Let go! Don’t touch me!” Grace struggled to get up.

“Don’t move, let me hold my wife.” He firmly held onto her, resting his chin on her shoulder, sighing contentedly.

After more than seven months, he finally embraced his beloved person again. In this moment, his suspended soul finally returned to his body. This long–lost sense of security made his eyes well up with tears, and he softly said, “Grace, I missed you so much, really missed you.”

Grace suddenly stopped struggling.

She suddenly felt very sad. His love was real, but since he loved her so much, why did he cheat? Why did he destroy the relationship they had built together for many years?

If I had known today, why bother in the first place.

“Antonio, I couldn’t forget about your infidelity, nor can I forgive it. We are no longer possible, and there is no meaning in you being like this now. Let’s part ways amicably.”

Antonio did not speak, he just held her tighter.

When the moon rose, he let go of his hand and said, “I know you don’t want to see me, I’ll go sleep in the guest room.”
