Chapter 1348 What Is The Big Deal

Jared then left Divine Beast Sect. Meanwhile, Desmond remained restless. In the end, he gritted his teeth and stood up, leaving Divine Beast Sect and heading toward Wildefield at the foot of the mountain.

He wanted to go and seek Colton out. Since Jared was still alive, the matter was now a tricky one.

Divine Beast Sect hadn’t the ability to deal with the man right then, so he wanted to see what ideas Colton had.

As he left Divine Beast Sect and was heading toward Wildefield, a figure stepped out of the darkness. It was none other than Jared.

In truth, Jared didn’t leave. Instead, he had been waiting for Desmond.

At the sight of the latter’s frantic departure, his eyes narrowed into slits. “Sure enough, I hit the nail on the head.”

He swiftly followed Desmond, who was completely unaware of it.

At the Rider residence, Colton was thrilled to the core.

Right then, Cecilia was lying on the bed, unable to move a single muscle due to the magecraft that kept her immobile.

Colton, who had just taken a shower, instructed the help, “I’m going to rest. No one is allowed to disrupt me. Don’t interrupt my fun!”

The help nodded fervently. “Understood, Mr. Colton!”

When Colton stepped into his room and laid eyes on Cecilia, who was still on the bed, his eyes gleamed predatorily.

As soon as Cecilia spotted the man, she bellowed at the top of her lungs, “You’ll rot in h*ll, you b*stard! Hurry up and let go of me!”

Alas, that only excited Colton all the more. His lips curved into a smirk, and he drawled, “Go on, Lady Jingle. Even if you scream yourself hoarse, it isn’t going to do you any good.”

While saying that, he pounced on Cecilia.

Tears slowly streamed down Cecilia’s face, even as scenes of her and Jared kept flashing in her mind.

Just when Colton was about to force himself on her, someone knocked on the door.

“So be it. What has that got to do with me? Did you come in the middle of the night just to tell me this? Have you lost your mind?” Colton snarled, shooting daggers at the man.

“Jared is very close with Crimson Palace, Mr. Colton. I’m afraid… afraid—”

“You’re afraid that he would come and kick up a fuss, yes?” Colton interrupted without waiting for Desmond to finish speaking.

“Yes, yes. I’m afraid that he’d come and kick up a fuss upon learning that Cecilia is in your hands.”

Desmond bobbed his head earnestly.

At that, Colton sneered, “Hmph! If he dares to come to the Rider residence to kick up a fuss, I’ll make it so that he can never leave this place. What’s the big deal? Do you think anyone can come and go from the Rider residence as they please? Hurry up and go back. Don’t disrupt my plans here. What a wet blanket!”

Chagrined, Colton gave Desmond the boot and hurriedly spun around to head back to his room.

Seeing that, Desmond could only sigh soundlessly. But just as he turned around to leave, he suddenly froze.
