Chapter 1366 An Impressive Layout

The wind was so strong that his face began to hurt. Jared opened his eyes out of curiosity, but Flaxseed grabbed his wrist and reminded him, “Keep your eyes closed!”

Jared quickly closed his eyes when he heard that. After what felt like an eternity, Jared’s feet finally touched ground, and the deafening roar of the wind had stopped.

“You can open your eyes now!” Flaxseed said. As Jared slowly opened his eyes, he was shocked by the sight before him. There were mountains, rivers, and lush green trees as far as the eye could see. It was as if he had been transported to a completely different location.

“W-What is this place?” Jared exclaimed in shock and disbelief. How is this a tomb? I feel like I’m in a different world or something!

Flaxseed ignored his question and quickly ran up a hill, only to look just as surprised when he gazed into the distance.

“Is this the immortal’s tomb you told me about?” Jared asked.

“This is quite an impressive layout!” Flaxseed mumbled to himself.

“What do you mean? What layout?”

Jared knew a little bit about tomb-raiding, but his knowledge was completely useless in this situation.

He was still too much of a novice to spot the layout that Flaxseed was talking about, let alone associate this scenery with a tomb.

Flaxseed flashed him a faint smile and pointed at a corner. “Look over here. You see how those mountains are overlapping one another? This scenery is clearly man-made! Whoever did this was able to manipulate nature. Not many out there are able to pull off such an amazing feat. The owner of this tomb must be a mage who specializes in metaphysics or something.”

Jared channeled his Focus Technique and absorbed the surrounding spiritual energy as the two of them made their way through the landscape.

After about half an hour of walking, they had made it deep into the mountains. Fortunately for them, the magical effects of the landscape had faded by then.

Otherwise, they could wander around for a year and still not find their bearings.

Flaxseed stopped in his tracks all of a sudden and stared at the mountain in front of him. “It should be right ahead.”

“Huh?” Jared paused and glanced at the mountain he was talking about.

In the distance, he saw a mountain peak that had been cut from the middle into a square-shaped altar. Surrounded by mountains, the “altar” looked awfully eerie.
