"They are only spiritual race beings and there aren't that many of them. There is nothing to be afraid of!" Kye exclaimed with a sneer. Obviously, he didn't take the spiritual race beings' presence seriously. Reaching down, he pulled out the saber from his waist, waved it around, and charged at the spiritual race beings.
His courage came from the fact that his strength was equal to a medium-grade Spiritual Infant's. However, when he got close to them, one of the spiritual race beings whispered in some incomprehensible tones. Then, he lifted his hand and his big palm and an invisible spiritual power surged out. Unexpectedly, Kye was pushed backwards and staggered for a few steps before he could stand firmly.
"Damn it!" He hadn't expected to be forced into retreating. Filled with humiliation, he immediately rushed forward again.
This time, a cage in the hand of one of the spiritual race beings was yanked opened, and a petite beast shadow flew out. It floated in the air and headed directly towards Kye.
Kye, of course, didn't see the potential dangers of the beast. He slashed in its direction a few times with his saber and released his spiritual power, which moved as fast as lightning.
However, the beast was even faster. It passed through Kye's blade spirit power and opened its mouth, biting towards his neck.
Since they were close to each other, Kye was unable to dodge it and was about to be bitten by the beast.
All of a sudden, a figure appeared behind him. He grabbed the back of Kye's collar and pulled on it. Within seconds, Kye had escaped from danger.
Looking behind him, he saw that it was Rocky who had saved him.
However, Rocky had no time to pay attention to Kye. He quickly stretched out his left hand and grabbed the beast shadow around its small body.
Now that it was trapped, Rocky got a closer look. It turned out that the beast in his hand was a spiritual beast, and that its strength was equivalent to a premium-grade spiritual beast's. Although it was small, the speed and agility it had just shown proved that it was as powerful as a premium-grade Spiritual Infant.
"This beast is the one who killed our soldiers!" Rocky said with certainty.
However, seconds later, the beast began to struggle desperately. Before long, something sharp brushed against his palm and he hurriedly let it go. Then, the spiritual beast grew quills all over like a hedgehog. The spines all looked extremely solid. Fortunately, Rocky had released it in time. Otherwise, his palm might have been directly pricked.
Soon, the spiritual beast turned and flew back to the spiritual race beings.
The spiritual race beings started to discuss quietly and it looked like they were talking about Rocky. Before long, one of them stepped forward and said in the human language, "You all need to surrender quickly, or we will attack you."
"Really? If I'm not wrong, you guys were the ones who attacked the troop that was guarding the Tiger Whisker Pass," Rocky said calmly, smiling at them.
"Yes, we are," the man admitted without hesitation.
"Why did you do it?" Rocky asked as he narrowed his eyes.
"We were following orders," the man answered.
"Where are the rest of the soldiers from the troop?" Rocky asked.
"Don't worry. You will see them again soon," the man answered, sneering.
"I see. Then we will surrender." Rocky had realized why they had lost contact with Deputy Commander Ma and the others. They must have been captured by these spiritual race beings. So they would surrender in order to find and rescue their friends.
"Just you guys?" Deputy Commander Ma looked at Rocky, Kye, and other members.
"Yes! Originally, we were sent to collect clues. If we found any, we were told to report it to the Tiger Whisker Pass. Unfortunately, we ran into several masters of the spiritual race and were captured by them," Rocky replied.
"Then who will go back to report to the Tiger Whisker Pass now that all of you are all caught?" Eunice asked, rolling her eyes.
"Captain Basil was the one who told us to surrender. Otherwise, we might still have a chance to run away," Kye complained.
"Even if one of us had gone to give a message to Commander Wang, by the time he would have brought his army to save us, we may have already been dead. Stop complaining. We have to rely on ourselves to get out," Rocky said calmly.
"This army of the spiritual race has probably been hidden in the Crescent Gorge for a long time. I'm afraid they have more terrible plans up their sleeves. We must report this to the Tiger Whisker Pass as soon as possible!" Deputy Commander Ma said.
"It won't work. We've tried everything to escape, but none of it has worked. The spiritual race beings are so powerful. And they have raised a spiritual beast. It is a little raging killing machine!" Eunice said with a frown.
"I've seen the beast, but I'm not worried. I have a plan to escape. I'll tell you this evening." Because the cage was surrounded by soldiers of the spiritual race, Rocky could not say his plan right now.
Deputy Commander Ma and Eunice nodded and sat down to wait patiently for the night to arrive.
Once night fell, most of the soldiers of the spiritual race that had been guarding the cage disappeared. So, now that they were under the cover of other soldiers, Rocky, Deputy Commander Ma, and Eunice began to discuss their plans.
"So, how are you going to get us out of here?" Eunice asked, unable to wait any longer.
