"I see. So you want us to fall into their trap on purpose while we set up our own trap to ambush them instead." Vivian's eyes lit up when she heard those words. She couldn't have thought of a better plan.
"That's it. How smart of you!" Rocky nodded with a smile.
"But once we enter their territory, we might be ambushed and exposed. How can we catch them off guard instead?"
"That's also what I'm worried about. Isn't this too risky?"
"I think it's best that we avoid them and choose a safer route."
The other Spiritual Emperors made it clear that they disagreed with Rocky's plan. After all, most, if not all, did not know much about the art of war. This meant that disagreement was inevitable.
"Everyone, I understand why you are worried. But like I said, the terrain we are in is easy to defend and hard to attack. The Primitive Fief's goal is to ambush us, so they won't be paying much attention to the terrain. Once we allow them to ambush us, we can lead them to our own trap. As soon as they're caught in it, we can begin a counterattack. Doing all this will allow us to deal a heavy blow to the enemy forces with minimum losses on our side," Rocky analyzed with confidence.
Vivian and the other Spiritual Emperors were shocked upon hearing his plan. Upon first impression, Rocky never showed much in terms of confidence, but ever since the last battle, they had found that he had more to offer than what they thought.
"Of course, Miss Vivian, if you object, we can always think of another plan!" Rocky wouldn't simply force everyone to accept his plan.
"We'll just do what you said!" Vivian decided. She couldn't really say anything else at the moment because she wasn't exactly adept with military tactics. Now that Rocky came up with such a good plan, there was no reason for her to object.
"Perfect. Please make the necessary arrangements. But when the time comes, I need you to allow me to make commands. Oh, and I also need your help with something," Rocky said as he raised both eyebrows slyly.
"What?" Vivian looked at him in surprise.
Rocky immediately stepped up to her side and whispered a few words into her ear. Upon hearing what he said, Vivian stared at him with cold eyes and scolded, "We are not doing that!"
"If we don't do this, then our plan won't succeed!" Rocky said.
"But…" Vivian had never done such a thing similar to what he had just whispered to her before. Doing such things wasn't normal for her.
"When the time comes, I will help you. You just need to pretend while I take care of the rest." Rocky continued to persuade her.
"Alright." To ensure that the plan went smoothly, Vivian reluctantly agreed.
After that, Rocky left first.
"Miss Vivian, what does he want you to do?" the Spiritual Emperors asked her, genuine looks of curiosity all over their faces.
"Play dead!" Vivian blurted out without any hesitation or explanation. This confused them even further. "Well…
Miss Vivian, we all thought that Godly Genius Odin was only skilled in medicine. We didn't expect him to be so good at military tactics..."
"It seems it's not a coincidence that he was chosen to be the Godly Genius!"
However, since Vivian and a few other members of the team had gone too deep, they failed to escape on time. This gave Tobias the perfect opportunity to trap them.
The purpose of this trap was to try and cut off any connection between the joint guard team. Tobias wanted to separate Vivian, who was leading the team on the front lines, from Rocky and the Spiritual Emperors, who were at the back.
Obviously, his plan succeeded.
When Vivian and several of her men were alone, Tobias, who was more than prepared, immediately appeared before her with two low-grade Spiritual Emperors.
"You annoying little pest!" Trapped in the mud whirlpool, Vivian glared at him.
"Ha ha! I've heard a lot about you, miss, like rumors of how much of a beauty you are. Now that I see you, and I can say that they're all true. You really are beautiful..." With a lascivious look on his face, he gazed at her with eyes full of greed. Compared to Valeria, this arrogant and aloof woman was far more attractive to him.
"Cut the crap. Come and fight me if you want to kill me!" With a wave of her hand, an ice white spear appeared out of thin air and into Vivian's grasp. If she wasn't on the battlefield, she would rarely summon her spiritual weapon to fight against an enemy. But now that she did, it was clear that the situation was serious.
"I don't even need to kill you with my own hands!" With a cold smile, Tobias took out a palm sized jade and threw it directly into the mud whirlpool.
As soon as the gem flew into the sky and directly above the whirlpool, it suddenly shone with a strange dark green light. In an instant, a strong siphoning force swept over Vivian and her team. This, along with being trapped in the mud whirlpool, made them feel every second of having their spiritual power being taken.
"The Spiritual Power Absorbing Stone! How could he have such a thing!" Vivian's eyes turned cold. This stone was a holy artifact of the royal family. It was refined via a secret method known only to members within the family. It could absorb the spiritual power of any living being. The higher the grade, the stronger its siphoning power was. The one that Tobias possessed was at a level that could absorb at least the spiritual power of someone who was at the Emperor Level. So even someone as strong as her could barely resist its power.
