"Salem, are you okay, and did you do what I asked?". Elena came to me.

"Yes ma'am," I said trying so hard not to get her suspicious about me

She wore a smile of gratitude as I walked over to my room, I had so many questions running through my mind, it's shocking to know that my nanny was still alive, all these years.

how much she had to pass through, just because of psychotic mother of mine, Elena Khan.

Now to add the cherry on top, I have got to bring her out of the mental asylum, but how do I do such without alarming the hospital's security and my mom.

My thoughts wandered off trying to figure out my options, and not quite long, a gunshot was fired at the living room.

I ran out just to see David, the guy who was reported missing, holding a gun in his hand, I always knew that boy had no brains in those big heads of his.

At least I forget, Elena looked without blinking.

This will be fun.

I smiled seeing how easier my job would be if Davids's ends up killing mom.

I rested my back at the wall, and quietly enjoyed the drama, as usual, Elena rants and kept on instigating David to pull the trigger, you can say Elena was prepared to die.

Unfortunately not by my hands.

"Do it, you fool!" She yelled out, her eyes firmly fixed at him, "I said do it, David" she added.

Urgh, I got tired of listening to such madness, since it wasn't my concern, I turned back to leave when another gunshot was fired.

I thought finally, mom was no more, however, I got a shock instead of seeing Riya in pain on the ground.

"Riya, please wake up baby"

Elena screamed.

I have no idea what came over me, but I rushed downstairs and attacked David, everyone watched. I had this aggravated rage, after seeing Riya like that.

The police walked in and carried David away and straight to jail, I opened a case against him for attempted murder, at least some months there will make him reflect on what he did.

Riya was taken to the hospital, I paced around and Elena quietly watched me.

It's been an hour, however, the doctor hasn't come out of the emergency room.

I pray that nothing happens to Riya, I might not say this much, but I have learned to care about her, don't ask! Because I do not know if it's love or out of obligation.

The doctor comes out.

"Doctor, Is Riya okay"

I ran out to meet him.

He shook his head and explained Riya was out of danger and she would be fine.

I was so relieved that I fell my back on the wall, looking calm.

Elena comes to me.

"Yes! Ma'am, is there any problem?" I asked, she shoots a smile and signaled we talk outside.

We went to a safe place to speak.

"Tell me something, Salem, do you like my daughter?" She says

"I am sorry ma'am, but I only take Riya, as I friend, nothing more and nothing less". I replied.
