"Where's everyone?" I asked towering my eyes around.

I walked into Elena's room and ambled out after getting the documents she asked me to, I was two-step closer to the front door when I noticed a strange aura around, the hutch I feel kept getting stronger, something Is indeed not right.

The second I took a step outside, I heard a glass scatter on the floor, which instantly got my attention.

"Who's there!". I returned to the house, looming my eyes around.

No one seems to alter a word to me, but when I attempted to leave once again, Riya yelled out my name.

"Salem, help me".

Quickly I rushed over to her room and saw she was tied up to her bed.

"Riya, what's going on?' i asked ambling closer to her.

she tries to give me a sign someone else was in the room, but when I got to understand the terrified look on her face, a vase was smashed on my head.

I had no idea what happened but when I got myself, I glimpsed that I was bundled to a place I had no idea off, Riya sobs softly with her gaze fixed downwards.

"Riya! Are you okay?".

That was a foolish question to ask but it was the only thing my head could think of.

She lifts her gaze and trembled her head in displeasure, "no, I am not okay, who are they and why did they kidnap us?.

Not long, an elderly man walks in and met us at our tied-up position.

He wears a devilish smile.

"Who are you?" I asked in curiosity.

The man turns to me and said, "you need not worry about who I am but worry about your lives when Elena Khan refuses to give in to my demands".

What demands? I asked myself, what kind of a shady deal is Elena Khan involved in, I believe there's more to her life from what I know.

"Look, sir! My apologies but we don't know what problems you have with Elena but please don't do anything that you might regret, you might take me hostage but please send Riya home".

I said.

My concern was to make sure that Riya doesn't get caught in the middle of a rolling stone and to add it all up, Riya turns her attention and said, "please don't try to pretend that you care about me! I can take care of myself, I don't need your help". she hissed fixing her eyes away.

It's crazy but, did she forget I am here all tied up like a criminal because of her, if she didn't call for help, I would not have been here in this messed-up position.

"Oh wow, miss, I don't need your help anymore, may I remind you that, you called out to me for my assistance, I didn't just presume that you were in danger and came running out to you". In an aggravated tone, I answered back.

For the second time, she hissed and smacked my tongue at me

The man that kidnapped us, had to ask if we were dating, I had no other option but to say no.

Not quite long, Elena's call came through, the man veers his back at us and went away.

I had no idea what they both talked about but I will not remain here to find out.

While his attention was fixed elsewhere, I stretched out my leg and got a hold of a piece of broken glass on the floor.

somehow I managed to free myself without gaining getting caught.
