THE FOLLOWING MORNING

I couldn't sleep all night, it felt like the sleep fairy went on a vacation and decided to cease me from having any at all.

methane walks into my room without knocking, I veered and noticed the glare she had on, "what is it?" I asked as she walks further to me and said, "nothing, but how do you feel finally telling Elena the truth! Don't you feel scared? Aren't you at least a bit, shaken to know what will happen now that everyone knows your true identity?"

I listened quietly to her words, although I am a little scared about the consequences of my actions what can I do? I had no other option.

(Inaudible conversation)

After a while, I strolled downstairs and got Riya constantly staring at the front door, she was so engulfed in it, that my presence there wasn't noticed.

"Riya, Good morning"

Riya turns to me reciprocating with hers, "good morning" and turned her eyes back to the door, when a man walks in.

She runs and hugged him, they might be friends? I said to myself, but I got the answer to my question, the moment Riya referred to him as, and I quote, baby.

She walks past me, with the gentleman.

(Two hours later)

Riya came out of her room after spending hours in there, I wonder what is going on.

She kept ignoring me.

I was about to leave when a man walks in with their suitcases.

"Good morning, gentleman, how may I be of help to you?". I asked.

"Good morning, Mr. Andres Khan, I know that you don't know us but we are the company lawyers," he said.

"So! What are you doing here? Why are you here? Is there a problem?".

I asked.

"No problem sir but we were sent by Mrs. Elena Khan, who we got to find out was your mom during the conference yesterday, she wants to step down as the chairwoman of the company and reinstate you as the new chairman and the heir to the Khan industries".

He replied.

It's crazy to think, Elena Khan would be willing to step down from being the chairwoman of the company without a fight, who knows maybe, my mom might be going soft.

I ushered them in, he brought out the power of attorney documents to me and requested I sign my signature on it, I pulled out my pen and signed on the papers, after that they left, then Elena walks in.

I watched and saw the gloomy look on her face, she walks past trying not to get my attention but I knew my mom wanted me to, still, I didn't alter a single word and watched her leave.

The subsequent day, I worked with my laptop in the living room, I was going through the statement of account, when I found out that the statement of accounts from the past three months is missing, the balance of each month doesn't at up, and I knew who had the answers to my questions, I pulled out my phone and called methane home, she walks in after an hour time, and inquired the reason behind the paranoid tone, she noticed through the phone.

"Please kindly explain, what this is?". I tossed the documents to her as she reads through them, she lifts her head the second, her eyes ran through the last words, "I don't understand Mr khan! What this mean?".

It seems the mind games played by my mom wasn't enough, methane seems to be working on the same game with me, by trying to play dumb.

"Are you asking that? Tell me the truth, apart from your hate towards Elena, what else are you hiding?". We both stared at each other.
