Chapter 42 novel The Night I Let Go

Zachary could feel his cheeks burning. Although there wasn't a mirror, he could tell that his face had turned scarlet.

He finally lost it when they left the market.

"Anya, what was that supposed to mean?" He held two fully stuffed shopping bags and glared at Anya furiously.

"Nothing. I just want to be safe!" Anya didn't seem bothered.

Seeing that, Zachary grew angrier. "What the hell? We don't even do that. Is there a need to be safe?"

"Did you say we didn't? Why did you hold and kiss me last night then? If not because I kept resisting, you would've…" Anya suddenly blushed as she said that.

She looked up and stared at Zachary. Then, she looked away shyly after meeting his gaze.

"I…" Zachary was dumbfounded.

He couldn't remember a single thing from the night before.

He wondered if he had done something out of line to Anya after he was drunk.

That couldn't be.

Zachary wanted to dismiss that possibility.

However, he felt slightly guilty when he recalled that he had woken up on Anya's bed that day.

He apologized sincerely, "I'm sorry. Last night was an accident. I'll be more careful next time."

"It's okay. I don't blame you," Anya replied, her cheeks red. Then, she added, "As for that thing… Just keep it. Remember to use it when you can't control yourself next time."

Zachary was speechless. He couldn't help but blush too.

The two didn't say a word on their way back.

Zachary went into the kitchen as soon as they arrived at the villa.

After dinner, Zachary cleaned up the table and quickly went upstairs.
