Finley continued peeling shrimp for Samantha, and a happy smile unconsciously appeared on her face. She wanted to lift her hand to remove Finley’s mask, but seeing that Emily hadn’t left yet, Samantha instructed the maid nearby, “Get her out of here! From now on, she’s not allowed to step foot in here again.” 

“Yes, Mrs. Dean.” The maid responded and then forcibly dragged Emily away. 

Once Emily had left, Samantha said to Finley, “She’s gone now. You can take off your mask.” 

“No need. It’s the same, eating like this.”

Finley looked at Samantha seriously. “No buts, this will do fine.” 

“Alright, if it floats your boat.” 

After dinner, Finley sat in the living room and asked Samantha to grab a file from his study for him. “It’s in a yellow folder. I have a video conference to attend and don’t have time to get it myself.” 

“Sure! I’ll get it for you.” 

Samantha nodded and went to the study to retrieve the file as Finley had instructed. When she brought it to him, the document looked exactly as Finley had arranged it, which he found strange, considering that she wanted to help Noah learn the base price for this bid. She should have peeked at it. Yet, she didn’t. Why? 

As he took the file and opened it, he said to Samantha, “This file contains the final bid I’ve set for this round. Inside is the base price for the bid. Do you want to take a look and give me some advice on whether the base price I set is reasonable?” 

Samantha had seen this very file before in her previous life; the base price was five billion, which was just right. However, if some fool wanted to bid fifty billion for this land, that would be even better. In bidding, the highest bidder wins. So, as long as Finley didn’t change the base price, she could trick Noah into spending tens of billions. 

With that in mind, Samantha took the file from Finley, placed it back in the folder, and handed it back to him. “Although I’m your wife, I won’t look at your company’s documents. After all, if the bid price were leaked, I would become the first suspect. Finley, I don’t want you to doubt me, and I certainly don’t want to do anything to betray you. So, keep this bid document safe and don’t show it to anyone casually, okay?”
