In the front courtyard, Daphne and Edward stood by Finley, offering words of comfort as he struggled with his worry.
“Mr. Dean, don’t worry. Mrs. Dean will be just fine.”

Edward added his voice of reassurance, “Yes, Mr. Dean, try not to fret. Mrs. Dean assured me she would return as soon as she finished her errands.”
“Mr. Dean, why don’t we give it another half hour? If Mrs. Dean hasn’t come back by then, Edward and I will go with you to look for her.”
Finley checked the time. It was already around 7:30 p.m. This was typically when Samantha would return home. She always made it a point to send a message or call if there were any delays. But tonight, there had been no message or any call, leading him to believe that something had gone awry.
Determined to find her, Finley climbed into his car and drove away from the courtyard.
Daphne, filled with concern, called out, “Mr. Dean, your leg has just healed. Please drive carefully at this late hour.”
Her only response was the roar of the engine as his car disappeared into the night.
