Samantha was standing downstairs, making a call to her assistant, when she noticed Nickson approaching her with a fawning smile. “Ms. Wallace…” 

Without even looking at him, she turned and walked away. 

Feeling embarrassed, Nickson watched her leave and called out, “Ms. Wallace, wait a moment.” 

Instead of stopping, Samantha quickened her pace. 

Nickson acted as if he didn’t notice how much Samantha despised him. He followed her closely. 

“Ms. Wallace, my brother just kicked me out. I overheard what you told Joel earlier–I know you’re looking for a bodyguard. I think I’m strong and fit, perfect for the job. Ms. Wallace, would you consider hiring me?” 

Samantha cast a cold glance at Nickson, noticing the scars covering his face. Her expression was filled with disdain. “You can’t even beat Joel, and you think you can be my bodyguard? Nickson, do you honestly think my company would hire someone as useless as you? 

“Plus, I’ve known you for a long time. I remember how you used your brother’s name to deceive female fans and indulge in a life of debauchery. It’s all recorded in the videos. 

“Someone with such devious intentions–I’d never let you stay by my side. I fear if I do, you will eventually turn on me.” 

Upon hearing Samantha’s words, Nickson awkwardly replied, “Ms. Wallace, those videos you’ve seen… Actually, the person in them is my brother, not me. Just because my brother and I look alike doesn’t mean that was me. Take a closer look at my face. It’s been disfigured. 

“So, how could someone like me impersonate my brother and trick his female fans? Clearly, the one deceiving women has always been my brother, not me. 

“Ms. Wallace, please don’t let the news from the internet fool you. Don’t misunderstand–I’m not the kind of man who lives a life of indulgence. I’m actually very innocent.” 

Innocent? Samantha felt like she’d just heard the funniest joke in the world. 

“Nickson, first of all, I’m not a fan of Sylvan, so I’m not foolish enough to be easily deceived. 

“Second, the scars on your face were the result of you destroying your brother, Sylvan, and getting your own face ruined in return. 

“Third, Sylvan has been nothing but kind to you, and yet here you are, bad–mouthing him to me. Nickson, do you realize that by doing this, you’re making Sylvan feel that all his sacrifices to protect you were for nothing?”

Nickson looked at Samantha, embarrassed. “Ms. Wallace, you’re not me or my brother. How can you know what’s happened between us? Besides, I wasn’t bad–mouthing him. Sylvan isn’t some great person. 

“Look, he just kicked me out. That shows how heartless he is. I’m his only brother, yet he’s thrown me out, leaving me to fend for myself. Doesn’t that tell you what kind of cruel person he is?” 

Samantha was both amused and speechless by Nickson’s words. She couldn’t help but feel sorry for Sylvan. 

How could two people be so vastly different?
