Frida frowned slightly. There must be more than meets the eyes with him.
Due to her misunderstanding that Danny was her savior, she instinctively felt inclined to have a good impression of him. She mentally made a note to find him and thank him for his help.
Soon, it was evening and time to get off work.
Frida accompanied Penny to the lobby of Cross Group. She was about to tell her charge to wait for her while she went to get the car when Nathan appeared in his Hongqi.
The car window rolled down and Nathan's smiling face appeared. "Honey, let's go home. Ms. Hampton, you're dismissed."
To be honest, Frida did not have a good impression of Nathan at all. She had heard about how he had gotten drunk and forced himself on Penny, causing her to have a child out of wedlock. She had also personally witnessed how he refused to work and was always leeching off of
Penny.
From the bottom of her heart, she was scornful of this man.
At that moment, she could not help cursing him in her head when she saw him driving a Hongqi. A Hongqi should only be driven by the leaders of the nation. Anybody who wants one has to undergo a political review before they can buy it. Yet now, a useless jerk like you gets to drive one! What an insult!
She shot Nathan a disdainful glance before turning to Penny. "President Smith..."
Penny spoke up, "Frida, Nathan's right. I'm only going to go home right now so you don't have to follow me anymore. You're free to do as you please."
"Yes, President Smith!"
With that, Nathan and Penny drove off.
On the way back home, Penny commented offhandedly, "Nathan, why do I get the feeling like Frida is prejudiced against you? She doesn't really seem to like you."
"Really?" he asked with a chuckle.
She nodded. "Yeah."
She urged him, "C'mon, let's go have a look at the Armani store up ahead. I want to buy you two sets of suits."
A grimace crossed his face and he protested. "But I don't want to buy any clothing!"
"But I want to buy them for you!"
With that, she tugged him into the boutique.
Upon entering the store, they spotted a man and a woman browsing through the clothing. From the back, the woman looked rather familiar.
"Oh, it's Frida!" Penny exclaimed softly in surprise.
The male was none other than Cross Group's janitor, Danny Golt.
