“Honey!”
Nathan was searching for Penny anxiously.
Very soon, he saw Penny lying in a corner. He immediately dashed over to her as swift as lightning.
Crash!
Suddenly, an extremely heavy wooden beam collapsed from the ceiling, right above Nathan's head.
He lifted his arm and clenched his fist hard.
Crash!
Nathan's fist broke the beam in half. Without slowing down, he reached Penny and picked her up.
“Honey, wake up!” He freaked out.
Sensing his presence, Penny's eyes fluttered open. “Is it you, honey?”
“I am trapped here and I am so scared. You have finally shown up but I don't want you to be here.”
Penny thought she was going to perish in the fire.
She was reluctant to part with Nathan, but she was also afraid Nathan might be trapped together with her if he came to save her.
“I don't want to die here alone but I don't want you to come for me,” was what she told Nathan.
It showed how torn she was.
Tears escaped from Nathan's eye, falling on her face. He was shedding tears as he gazed at his limp wife. It was a rare sight.
However, his voice remained calm. “I won't let anything happen to you. Let's leave now.”
Penny mumbled in acknowledgment and finally passed out in his arms.
With Penny in his arms, Nathan strode toward the window.
They were trapped in a sea of fire.
Outside, the helicopter was hovering in the air. A rope ladder was thrust in their direction. A soldier in the cockpit shouted, “General, can you jump out and grab the rope ladder?”
He can blame the crash on a malfunction.”
Santiago gave her a nod. “Got it!”
He aimed at the propellers of the helicopter and fired a few shots in succession.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The shots fired by the Desert Eagle pistol immediately crushed one part of the propellers.
Instantly, the helicopter lost control and swerved dangerously, heading for the ground swiftly.
Everybody began to scream in terror.
“Warning! Warning! Warning!”
The helicopter descended swiftly as the system shrilled out the warning.
From afar, Ava, Colin and the Elite Eight paled in horror.
