Wilfred paled upon hearing that!
He had just got out of jail earlier in the day and Nathan wanted him to get back there the same day. Furthermore, the Lieberman family had to retire from the scene completely.
It was impossible for Wilfred to accept any of those two options.
After taking a deep breath, he said, “Nathan, you're indeed very formidable. However, do you think it's possible for just yourself alone to wipe out our entire Lieberman family? I'm not going to agree to your propositions, neither will anyone in my family agree. I believe that the authorities would not allow you to mess around in this manner too.”
Then, he ordered loudly, “Attack together! All followers, disciples and subordinates of our Lieberman family. Even though Nathan Cross is the God of War, we are going to kill the God today!”
“Kill the God!”
“Kill the God!”
“Kill the God!”
Members of the Lieberman family chanted in unison as they whipped out their weapons with murderous intent, ready to charge at Nathan together.
Seeing that Wilfred had decided to resist till the end, Nathan got ready to take them on with Colin and the rest of his subordinates.
However, just then, deafening noises erupted from outside.
Numerous armored vehicles, military troop carriers, and a few jeeps made a dramatic appearance.
Both Nathan and Wilfred's sides stopped their actions and looked outside towards those unexpected visitors.
After the vehicles came to a halt, groups of armed soldiers dashed over and surrounded the Lieberman family.
A smart-looking general got off from one of the jeeps. It was Will.
Will bellowed, “Move faster and surround the entire place! No one is allowed to leave. First and second-row soldiers, follow me inside!”
After Will gave instructions for his soldiers to surround the compound, he led two teams of soldiers and charged into the Lieberman
residence.
with the Lieberman family?”
Wilfred and the rest of the Liebermans paled upon hearing that.
Filled with both anger and shock, Wilfred yelled, “Will, your duty is to protect Brimmopolis and you have no right to meddle with the affairs between Nathan Cross and I. Don't you dare lay a finger on me!”
Right after he finished his sentence, a cold and authoritative woman's voice sounded from outside. “How about me? Do I have the right to meddle in your affairs?”
Everyone was startled once again as they turned to look toward the source.
It was Hailey, Director of the Secret Service. She strode into the house, leading a team of subordinates in suits.
The woman walked in front of Wilfred and said unemotionally, “Wilfred Lieberman, you're suspected of kidnapping the commander's daughter and instigating an assault on the commander's family members. At the same time, you are also suspected of attempted harm to the commander. You're officially under arrest for being a threat to our national security. Congratulations for going back to jail the same day you got released.”
Wilfred's face turned as white as a sheet when he heard his charges.
That was when he finally realized that times had changed. He was no longer a respected Great Cabinet member and just like what Nathan said, he was nothing.
