Camilla the First Lady was having dinner with Nathan and Kylie in the dining hall of the Royal Palace.

Although the meal was not a sumptuous spread, all the dishes were prepared exquisitely with nutritious ingredients.

Staring at Nathan, Camilla asked, “I heard that you were ambushed last night.”

Nathan, who was enjoying the meal, answered her with a smile, “Some thugs launched a surprise attack on me. Fortunately, I wasn't hurt.”

Looking concerned, Camilla frowned and advised, “Please be extra careful as you're responsible for the border security in the North.” “Yes, I'll certainly be more careful,” Nathan

responded.

“Have you found out who attacked you and who was the mastermind that orchestrated the action?” Camilla pressed on.

“People from the Secret Service as well as the police have already started working on that. Timothy Carter made a pledge to get to the bottom of the matter within ten days' time. If he fails to fulfill his promise, he will be punished for his negligence and incompetence.”

Camilla narrowed his eyes and lamented, “Ever since the President was bedridden, all the snakes and goons seem to see it as their chance to wreak havoc in this country. If the President is in the pink of his health, I bet no one would have had the guts to harm you in any way.”

Nathan looked somewhat somber upon listening to Camilla's remark.

Mr. Windsor falling sick was something Nathan had never expected.

He thought he would be able to give Mr. Windsor a hand to eliminate all the snakes in the Cabinet before the end of his term of office.

Yet, his plan was totally disrupted because of Mr. Windsor's illness. Without his guidance, Nathan's mission became an uphill task.

Although Nathan was the General who was in charge of border security of the country, the Cabinet members enjoyed a more superior status than him. Therefore, he had no means to deal with them all by himself.

Knowing well what Camilla was trying to imply, Nathan replied with a faint smile, “Aunt Camilla, please don't worry about my safety. Even though Mr. Windsor is sick at the moment, I won't be harmed that easily. I have to keep myself safe so that I can help Mr. Windsor fulfill his aspiration.”

“I'm glad to hear that,” Camilla responded.

As the sky slowly darkened, Brimmopolis turned into a city of lights.

Inside the same battered house, the Dark Lord and his subordinates were having a discussion to decide the place to launch an attack on Nathan.

Grimly, the Dark Lord announced his decision, “I say we do it right in the hotel where Nathan is staying. Tonight is the night we kill him to exact our revenge.

His subordinates were taken aback by his decision. “Captain, I'm sure that Nathan must be heavily guarded now after what took place last night. Isn't it hard to do it right in the hotel?”

Dark Lord sneered, “Sometimes, we have to take risks in order to succeed! Now, the entire city is filled with people who are desperately trying to track us down. I don't think any of them will expect us to launch another attack on Nathan instead of fleeing the country. This time, we're going to nail it by doing something out of their expectation! We'll get our revenge tonight! Now, all we need to do is plan our withdrawal.”
